“I can touch you when and wherever I want.” His other hand roamed over her breast, pinching her nipple through her shirt. “Do you scream out his name? Do you suck his dick and then swallow his jizz?”

Blaze ground his erection against her, and bile rose in her throat.

“I’ll bet you get nice and wet for him.” His hand traveled over her abs, and when he reached the waistband of her jeans, Mandy pushed herself from the car with all her strength.

“I said, get away from me.” She yanked his hands away and stiffened her back. “You have no right to touch me or tell me what to do.”

“What do you think Ajax would say about you shacking up with that Serpent every week?”

“He doesn’t run my life, and neither do you.”

“Tough talk. You think you don’t need me now 'cause you’re with that biker.”

“I never needed you. You just refused to get the message.”

When Blaze curled his lip, Mandy’s heart skittered, but she didn’t back down.

“Wait till I tell Ajax about your little trips. He’ll end them, or he’ll put an end to that lowlife biker.” Blaze shoved her against the side of the car. “Then you’ll have to come back to me.”

“I would never go back to you.”

“Stupid bitch. You won’t be so tough when Ajax finds out what’s been going on.”

“Go ahead, tell him. I’m done living under his archaic rules.”

Blaze sneered at her. “Mamba’s not here to protect you.”

“I can take care of myself.”

“I guess taking Mamba’s dick has made you brave.” Blaze slammed his hands against her shoulders, and her head hit the car’s roof, dazing her for a second. His massive palm cupped her throat and squeezed.

Mandy gasped for air, and he pressed harder. Her head swam, but she fought against dizzying nausea.

“Get away from me,” she wheezed out.

“Make me.” Blaze sneered, and two seconds later, Mandy’s knee instinctively raised, ramming him right in the balls.

“Fuck!” He reared back and crouched over, almost losing his footing. “You fuckin’ bitch,” Blaze hissed out between gasps.

Mandy pushed off the car and glared down at him. “I told you to back off. I also told you not to threaten me anymore. Maybe next time you’ll listen.”

“This isn’t over. I don’t like losing, and you and that fuckin’ bastard, Mamba, are goin’ down.”

“You’re no match for him or me.” Mandy whipped the car door open and slammed herself into the driver’s seat. Standing up for herself felt good and fighting back felt even better.

The adrenaline coursed through her body for most of the ride home, but the showdown with Blaze gave her an added boost. The days of telling her what to do and ruling her life with threats and guilt were over.

She prepared herself for facing Ajax. There was no way she’d let Blaze get to him first and spin her relationship with Mamba in the crudest of ways. He’d hear the truth from her, and he would also find out that no matter what, she wasn’t backing down or giving him up.

Mandy entered the kitchen and called out for Ajax, but no one answered. She moved further into the house, and the living room was dark. At almost eleven o’clock, her mother and Achilles would be in bed, and obviously, Ajax was out. Her speech would have to wait until morning, but there was no way she’d back down. She’d set Ajax straight once and for all and finally live her life on her terms.

Mandy rose early, made coffee, and was sitting at the kitchen table when Ajax finally surfaced. Her mother had already left for work, and Achilles sat in his usual spot entranced by the weather station.

“Up early, little sister.” Ajax filled his mug and took a sip.

She couldn’t read his mood, which wasn’t unusual. Being the leader of the Marauders made him the master of deception.
