Picking her up, my dick slips right into her tight cunt as I press her back to the wall. “I love you, Valentine.” Kissing along her jaw and down her neck, I suck on the tender flesh.

“I love you, too, Roman. I tried not to. I hated you today, but god, I love you.”

“As long as you still love me,” I grunt, biting her.Fuck, I can’t stop biting her, needing my mark on her outsides for the world to see. Thrusting into her willing pussy, she tightens on me, already on the verge of orgasm. It doesn’t take much to send her over.

Slanting my lips over hers, I swallow her cries, needing them all for myself. I follow her over the jagged edge of pleasure and dive headfirst into the realm of euphoria that can only be found in my sweet Valentine’s arms.

CHAPTER13

Valentine

Ican hardly stand still on the front steps of the Heart Construction building as Roman’s publicist outlines how this announcement will pan out. She assured me that I didn’t have to say anything if I didn’t want to, but the microphone was mine if I wanted it.

I’m unsure of what to do. I have no desire to be in the spotlight any more than I’ve already been, but then I think of the other women this has and will happen to, and I feel like I should. Yes, some women sell these kinds of photos to make themselves famous, but there are so many more who are blackmailed or it happens against their will, and I want them to know they’re not alone. I want to be their voice.

“I’ll hand it over to Mr. Heart now,” Anita says. She is a fantastic woman, excellent at her job, and really listened to me when we spoke last night. She told me she wouldn’t stop until every last image of me was wiped from the internet. Even if that’s not possible, I appreciate her effort.

“I’m disappointed that so many of you freely published images of my future wife in a position where she was vulnerable, believing the lies you were told and running with it. However, because this has happened, an incredible number of charities will benefit from it. As I’m sure most of you are aware from your papers and magazines, I agreed to drop all lawsuits in exchange for each of your employers donating a quarter of a million dollars to a charity on the list provided to you when you arrived this morning. I’ve also instructed my lawyer to inform them that if they add an additional fifty grand to their donation, I won’t sue the reporters and their editors who ran the stories. You’ll have to speak with them about that. If they choose not to, I’ll be coming for you.” Roman smirks as the men in front of him, most of whom published the intimate images of me, pale in the face at such an imposing lawsuit.

One of the few women here raises her hand, and Roman nods at her to ask her question. “Will you be matching any of the donations or making one of your own?”

“No.” His head shakes, and a few of them look skeptical. “And I’m going to allow Valentine to explain why.” Stepping back, Roman holds a hand out for me as I blink up at him blankly.

“Me?” I squeak out.

“It was your idea, sweetheart. Nobody will be as passionate about it as you are.”

Anita clears her throat from beside me; she has been on board with my idea from the start.

“Oh…uhm, well, alright.” As I step up, Callie rushes to my side, squeezing my hand. My sisters are all sitting off to the side with pride on their faces, except Autumn.

“Hello,” I greet. I seem to garner more attention than Anita and Roman, which makes me nervous. “The reason Roman won’t be matching-.” Roman clears his throat and raises an eyebrow at me. “The reason we won’t be matching is because this happens far more than it’s prevented. Women from all walks of life have been in my position before, and sadly, from experience, I can tell you I’ve never been so scared in my life. Because of those photos, I was assaulted at my job, accused of some very terrible things, and to be honest, my self-worth, which wasn’t much to begin with, has tanked.” I swallow past the lump in my throat as Callie squeezes my hand, and Roman crowds in behind my back, being the support so many women don’t have.

“I was lucky, however, because Roman didn’t waste a second in protecting me from the vultures who chose to dehumanize me. This then led Anita and me to organize a foundation for women who are put in similar positions but don’t have the means or the funds to fight back. Nobody—man, woman, or child—should be afraid to leave their home due to reporters having overtaken their doorstep, more than willing to call them vile names and infringe on their privacy further. If you are taking the photos, publishing the articles, or re-victimizing the victims, there is not a rock you’ll be able to hide under when we come for you.”

“And!” Callie begins when I step back, “if you’re smart, each and every one of you assholes who published those images will donate ten thousand dollars to help kickstart this project. Contact Anita for details on how to do that.”

Hands raise with questions, but I don’t want to talk anymore. Roman senses my unease and ushers me away while Anita and Roman’s lawyer, Allan, field the questions and give options for how to donate to our new foundation without a name.

The woman who asked her question follows us. “Excuse me? Miss Joy?” I stop because she doesn’t sound like the others; she’s not trying to hound me.

“Yes?” Roman remains at my side while I respond.

“Thank you,” she says, surprising me. “My sister once had a boyfriend who videoed them being intimate, sent it to some porn site, and well, you know the rest. So thank you for not taking this sitting down. For being willing to do something about it.” I wasn’t expecting that.

“Honestly, it’s Roman. It’s his power and influence and nothing to do with me.” Without him, I would have hidden away and never come out.

“But you are doing something. You are starting a war against sex crimes, because that’s what these are, and you’re going to win. You’re going to change the game for so many, and to be honest, I’d like to be there with you.”

“How so?” I hedge. Nothing comes without a price.

“I’d like to be your exclusive reporter. I know you have Anita for publicity, but I would like to be the one to get as much or as little out into the world as you want. I want this to grow beyond our country, and I think you do too. I’d like to interview you, Mr. Heart, and Anita, and I want to sell those interviews to every international outlet I can and have the money donated right back into the foundation.”

I like her.” What’s your name?”

“Charlotte Daring.”

Reaching out a hand, she takes mine. “Deal.”
