“Valentine will be working at Heart Construction. You may come see her next week,” Roman interjects, a solid hand on my hip.

“I’ll be there. I’d like to give this to you as well. My sister is a maternity photographer; she asked me to give you one.” Her smile appears genuine as I accept the card.

“I’m not pregnant,” I tell her.

“From the way he looks at you, I suspect it won’t be long until you are.” With a wave, she leaves, and I turn to stare up at Roman.

“She’s right,” he shrugs. “It’s not like I’ve been using protection, and we’ve been locked away for the past three days doing nothing but fucking.”

“You’re so crude.” I slap his chest playfully as Chance pulls up with the car, ready to take us home.

As we climb in, Roman raises the screen, and well, Charlotte is right; it doesn’t take long.

Epilogue

ROMAN

Three years later.

I’ve been banned from watching my wife breastfeed. Every time I do, she winds up pregnant.

After just giving birth to our third son, she’s thrilled but deflated. Valentine was hoping for a girl this time, and I’m determined to give her one, but she won’t let me near her until our youngest is at least three months old. She’s convinced that we keep having boys because I touch her too soon after the doctor gives her the all-clear. Not that she minds all that much because it means she’s the only woman in my life.

However, I have to share her attention with three other males. I know it’s not fucking rational. They’re our sons, but dammit, they get more of her than I do these days. It’s a hell of my own making, too, because I can’t keep my hands off her.

Ever since the fucking press conference, her confidence has grown, and Jesus Christ, it’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life. And I want it all for myself.

It didn’t take long for Allan and Anita to discover that it was my old assistant Tracy who hired someone to take the photo of Valentine, and she sold the images for a hefty price to each paper. I buried her in lawsuits after that. Ruined her. And felt zero remorse about it.

The Heart Foundation was up and running a month after that, and there has been a steady stream of cases since then as well. Valentine refuses to turn down any of the women who come to us. Thankfully, between Anita, Charlotte, and Allan, we’ve hired on an amazing staff that handles most of the day-to-day operations. But Valentine insists on meeting every single person and ensuring them that we will help. And help, we do.

“You’re not supposed to be in here.” Val glares at me, one son on each breast, as our oldest plays on the floor quietly at her feet. All three children enjoy being near her, and not just because she’s their mother, either. There’s a sense of calm around Valentine, for anyone. No matter who she’s with, they always feel immediate comfort with her.

“Can’t help it,” I say as I approach. Leaning in for a kiss, I take our now-sleeping one-month-old from her arms to burp and change before lying him in the bassinet next to the crib. “I want to give you that daughter,” I confess in her ear as I wander behind her chair, helping her with her top. “And I think the solution is to fuck sooner rather than later.”

“Roman,” she hisses up at me as our middle son releases her breast, out cold.

Taking him from her arms, I do the same with him as our infant. These boys, they get so damn boob-drunk, they sleep for hours after a feeding. Our oldest is done breastfeeding, but he doesn’t hesitate to climb into Valentine’s lap for some cuddling. I don’t blame him and give him a few minutes before calling the nanny in to take care of them so I can give my wife exactly what she needs.

A daughter.

Epilogue

VALENTINE

Four years later.

Well, I finally got exactly what I wanted…a little girl. After having two more boys. And in the form of twins: one girl, one boy.

Six sons.

One daughter.

Roman is thrilled.

We’re outnumbered.

I can’t say I don’t like it because I love my men, and I couldn’t be happier. But as soon as our daughter came screaming into the world, Roman declared us finished, telling the doctors right there to fix me up because it was time I got to enjoy being a mom and wife instead of an incubator.
