Right.

I shook my head. “Adam…”

“Yeah, I know. He’s Emersyn’s brother. That gives him some leeway, and he’s your friend, so that will give him a little more.” The pause was significant. “Don’t ask me for more than that.”

“I’m not asking you for anything,” I reminded him. “I meant what I said. You want out, we’ll get you out.”

“I know—” Adam turned to walk away, glancing back over his shoulder. “That’s why I’m willing to give him some latitude.”

Then he was at the car and sliding in the passenger side, Ezra flipped me off in a mocking salute, and then they were pulling away and leaving me to look out over the bay.

I gave them time to go before I walked back to my bike. It was faster and more maneuverable. The ride back to the clubhouse passed in silence. It was late, and I didn’t run into a lot of traffic. Made it easy to spot any potential tails.

I was still turning the conversation over when I let myself in and the sound of Hellspawn’s moans greeted me. The fact she was spread out on the pool table with Kellan’s head between her legs chased away the gloomier thoughts.

Locking up, I headed toward them. “Tagging in to play…”

Kel glanced up, his face slick with her release, and he grinned. “Go keep her mouth busy. I’m enjoying this.”

Hellspawn turned those dark eyes on me and reached out a hand, and the rest of the worries just fell away. They didn’t belong here with her.

“My pleasure,” I murmured, and she let out a sultry little laugh.

“Mine too,” she said, and I grinned.

Hell yes, it would be.

CHAPTER32

EMERSYN

“Explain to me again why it has to beyouthat marries her.” Jasper’s expression wasn’t frosty so much as fierce as he stared at Liam.

“Because he’s already loaded,” Vaughn commented, lifting me right out of my seat before he took my spot and then settled me in his lap. I eyed him over the rim of my coffee cup.

“Nicely done.” He hadn’t spilled a drop.

He winked, then nipped my lower lip before he kissed me gently. “Thank you.”

“Actually,” Liam said. “It isn’t directly related to the money.”

“So, it’s only indirectly related,” Jasper said, arms folded. I wasn’t sure if he was truly annoyed or not.

“The point,” Kellan said before Liam could offer another explanation. “This is anoptionand anoptiononly. Sparrow doesn’t have to do a damn thing.”

Rome looked at me. “Do you want to marry Liam?”

I blinked. “What?”

“Do you want to marry him?” The simplicity of his question soothed some of the ruffled feathers following the rather blunt announcement over breakfast that Liam and I should go ahead and apply for a marriage license. We could probably sort everything out by the end of the week.

“I don’tnotwant to marry him,” I admitted. “And I told Kel that I’d marry any of you if it got us access to my trust…”

Freddie squinted at me as Mickey pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Question, Boo-Boo.”

Shifting on Vaughn’s lap, I glanced at him.
