“And how long have you been here?” I peeped how she eyed Elia’s canvas pictures on the walls in the hall leading toward the great room.

“About four years.”

“You were living in Paramus before then?”

“Yeah. Rented out a house, and when I hit a lick with theChildren of Fatejoint, I got some opportunities off the rip from that alone. I reached out to a few people I knew in the industry for a realtor. Let’s kick it in here.” I motioned into the great room then led us to the bar. Once inside, I pulled out a stool for her. “Yeah. She found this spot for me in no time, and at a fair price. She negotiated her ass off. I see shortie from time-to-time at events. She’s been helping me out with some investment business lately.” I pulled my glass up to my mouth. “Jaquana. She was a realtor then. Now, she’s a whole ass broker.”

Lennox’s eyes lit up at that. “You think she can refer someone who does…modest rentals? I’ve been looking for something in my budget all week. Everything’s overpriced. I have to protect my savings.”

“You selling your house?”

She nodded just after taking a big ass gulp of her wine. “I meet with a prospective agent next week. I had an appointment with one two days ago, but he flaked on me.” Her mouth twisted.

“That’s fucked up.”

“It is. I don’t even know how fast the market is moving now. I do think I’ll turn a profit, but don’t want to throw all of that into paying rent to someone else.”

“I feel you. You ever thought about buying something here? Chino killin’ the real estate game.”

I really wanted her to reach out to her pops. Lennox and I were fucking now, and there would be no man after me. She was mine. I’d make sure not to fumble the bag this time. Due to street politics, her pops had to be informed properly, and not find out randomly. I wasn’t afraid of the O.G., but street code was street code. Smite still lived by them. It could affect his relationship with his friend.

“In Jersey? Let me find work first.” She laughed. “This state is ridiculously expensive!”

“I’ll hit up Jaquana tomorrow. She’ll do me a solid and help you find something in your price range. Something non-luxury.” I rolled my eyes playfully, wanting instead to offer to help with any expenses she may need. But I knew better than that with Lennox. After her expression of where she was emotionally earlier at Ragee’s, my ass knew to keep my mouth the fuck shut.

“Thanks!” She blew out a breath. “First a job prospect, and now a housing prospect. All of this after the hellish morning I had.” Lennox glanced around the room. “So, this is where you warm them up?”

“Them?”

Her shoulders lifted. “Your den of lovers.”

“Denof—” My head rolled back slowly, and I cracked the hell up. “You calling me a whore again, girl?”

“No!” She smiled and pouted at the same time while reaching for me. “I don’t think you’re a whore at all. I swear. But we know you like your sex stuff and…” She murmured, “are clearly good at it.”

Heat caressed my balls. This was the third response my dick had to her words. Lennox said she loved me earlier at Raj’s. She also told me she’d end upmywife someday. I wanted to fuck her right there on the spot, but played it cool.

I placed my hand over my heart. “Thanks for the compliments. Feel free to not whisper them next time. But I need to make this clear: I don’t bring random women to my home. Remember, I have a daughter. The more people in and out of here, the less sacred this place is for her.”

Lennox’s eyes fell, and she nodded as though rebuked. “Then where do you go to…play.”

I took a sip of myMauve, highly aroused by her mere presence in my home. Not to mention the conversation.

“You know where Igo—went until I… You know.”

Her little hand was on my thigh as she leaned into me. “You didn’t have to stop for me.” Then Lennox grabbed her face as a hard ass laugh slipped. “But I appreciate it. I’d be nuts if I had what you’ve given me, and knew someone else was having it, too!”

She was pretty. So fucking pretty even when she was masking her vulnerability.

“Another compliment.” I brought the glass to my mouth. “I can get used to this.”

Grinning, Lennox squinted her eyes. “What’s the name of that place again?”

“What place?”

“The sex club.”

I chuckled. “Sex club,” I whispered, trying it out for size as I scratched inside my beard. “The Jux Supper Club.”
