“Remember, I warned you about your mouth?” He asked.

“I do. But trying to do harm to me over your sister, who has probably lied to you about how everything went down, isn’t the wisest move.”

He looked over my shoulder to see my men coming inside. There were more of them present because they didn’t trust Cecil to keep his word about the alliance. I guess they didn’t like the fact that he had a gun that he was pointing my way.

“Are you threatening me?” He asked, squinting at me.

“No. Threats are for cowards. I’m here because I want this to be right.”

I hadn’t flinched at him pointing the gun for two reasons. One, I knew he didn’t really know how to use it. Two, he knew his sister was a whore.

“Do you have proof?” He asked. He probably thought that he had me with that question.

I looked to Massimo, who turned and walked out. When he came back, Debbie was walking in here with him. Blindfolded, she followed Massimo’s lead until he put her in front of Cecil. He touched her face, and she squealed.

“Debbie, it’s me.” He took the scarf off and she smiled at him.

“Hey. Why am I here?” She asked, before turning around to see all the men behind her. “What’s going on?”

“Debbie, can you tell Cecil what happened at the club for me?” I asked her directly.

“Oh, you mean between you and Cindy? She was upset for sure. I didn’t think that you deserved for her to spit in your face because you didn’t want to see her any more. She didn’t enjoy seeing you with that girl, though. When she heard you were seeing someone, she wanted to see it for herself. We followed you to the club one night and when she found out that you own it, we made plans to show up.”

“What the fuck?” Cecil asked. “So y’all showed up looking for trouble?”

“Not necessarily. I went to get free drinks. Cindy said that the drinks were on her.”

“She meant me. I paid for that little stalk session you and your friends planned.”

Debbie shrugged. “We didn’t know.”

“Do you know what kind of shit show you three have started?” Cecil asked.

“Uh… After security walked us out, that was it. The only harm was her spit in his face. We never got the drinks.”

“Ay, watch it.” I warned.

“Sorry, Benni.” Her eyes softened, and she looked back at Cecil. “You know how fixated Cindy gets.”

“I do.” He sighed. “You still owe me.” He looked at me.

“Name the penalty.” I said.

“I need something done. Seems only right to ask you.”

On guard, I waited.

“There’s somebody I need handled. Are you in?”

I squinted and turned to Massimo. He stood at the ready in case this went left.

“It had to be you. Nobody else.”

I nodded and waited for him to tell me what I needed to know.
