Tackett:I don’t know. I may be too tired. (winky face)

Italian spices waft through my nose as I walk in the door. If that’s Megan, I’m going to kill her. I want to lay on Tackett and do the dirty. I’ve had a long boring day. I’ve thought about him and how good he is at everything he does—all day. I sit my purse down and toss my keys in the basket by the door.

“What’s that smell?”

Tackett waltzes in the living room with a freaking chef’s hat on. “Cooking for you. I called Jayson, and he sent me his recipe for eggplant parmesan. You’re not allergic to eggplant are you?”

“No, why?”

“Don’t you know the story about Archer almost killing your sister?” I shake my head as he pulls me into him for a kiss. “I missed you today.”

I moan into his mouth. “I always miss you but today was especially hard. Are you talking about when she interviewed?”

“Yeah, I don’t want to kill the only person I’ve slept with,” he says as we sway back and forth in his arms.

I pluck the hat off his head so I can rush my fingers through his moderately thick hair. “How much time do we have?” I ask.

“It’s ready. I’ll set the table if you want to change into your pajamas.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me. Now I know what that means. All those times he wiggled his eyebrows he wasn’t just being funny, he was flirting.

We can’t consume dinner fast enough. It was great, even fantastic, but I want more of last night. He pulls me onto his lap, sitting sideways.

“No baby, that’s not going to work. I want these endless legs around me.”

He twists me, and I straddle him. He’s already hard and squeezes my hips, rolling them over him. God, grinding on him feels oh so good. I glide over him faster and faster in my already wet panties. “I’m so happy you’re home for two more days,” I say as I look up at my color-coded calendar.

“Oh, me too.”

The kiss comes in fast and furious. We’re at the point of shedding clothes. My top is already on the floor. God, I want him to please me like he did last night. My body brims with anticipation, skin prickling, and my center already soaked.

“Hey, anyone home?”

Our heads jerk apart. I mouth, “Megan’s here,” and press my lips together. Tackett’s eyebrows shoot up but keeps exploring my legs.

I quietly remove myself from Tackett’s lap and throw on my tank. I hear footsteps and move to the sink acting like I’m cleaning up. “In here.” Tackett places his ankle on his other knee, hiding the hardslump.

“Hey, who cooked?” Her eyes dart between us.

I gesture in his direction. “Tackett.”

A goofy grin slides across Tackett’s face. He’s so freaking cute in some moments and such a sexy man in other moments. He looks like he was just caught with his hand in the cookie jar. My sister’s head starts nodding like she knows something.

“Well, Archer and the twins are in the car. We’re going to the movies since tomorrow’s their last night here and we have a game. Get ready and come.”

At the same time, I say, “I’m tired.”

Tackett says, “Sure, but Talynn might need a shower first.” He clears his throat. “She’s been working all day.”

I want to slap that smirk off his face. It’s not my fault I’m wet—it’s biology. So, as I’m walking by him I say, “Give me a minute to rinse off. Maybe having some fun will get Towles out of his slump.” This time it’s me wiggling my eyebrows.

ChapterFifteen

TACKETT

It’s like the fifth-grade girls on one side, boys on the other. It just happened this way. The ladies were all talking and slipped into the aisle first so when we noticed, we let Archer sit by Megan then Hagan and I rounded out the row.

The movie is considered an action movie with all the blasts, and car chases, but it has a romantic element. A scene where they are having sex moves slowly across the screen. It doesn’t show them actually having sex but shows suggestive clips and angles of the main character taking his partner up against a wall.
