IT TAKES ABOUT Aweek, but Cam’s plan actually fucking works. There were multiple steps to it, and Owen’s cooperation only further proved his loyalty. First, he went into a bar he knew Isaac’s brother was at, but he didn’t acknowledge them. He pretended to get drunk and then proceeded to shit talk Shore Break, which then led into him saying that Cam and I are assholes who don’t know the first thing about running a bar.

After that, it was only a matter of time until Isaac turned up. He acted like it was just a coincidence that they ran into each other, and said he was only back to visit for a couple of weeks. Owen pretended to believe every word as he made it genuinely look like he’s happy to see him again.

Earning Isaac’s trust wasn’t difficult. After all, the two of them used to be pretty good friends, before he went too far in this war against Cam and me. So, when Owen called Isaac and asked him to come over to play some video games, saying he ran into Cam in the store and almost punched him in the face, Isaac couldn’t resist.

We stay completely quiet, staying right out of view of the door while we wait for him to get here. There are no words for how bad I am itching to get my hands on this prick.

He’s the reason Laiken left.

He’s the reason Cam almost went to prison.

He’s the reason Mali still won’t be alone with a man unless it’s Cam or myself.

Everything he has coming to him right now, he fucking deserves. He might think he’s getting revenge for his friend’s death, but all he’s doing is giving me a reason to rid the world of another fuckhead who will only make the world a worse place by reproducing.

The knock at the door follows with Isaac’s voice. “O, it’s me. I’ve got beer.”

I spin my hat around so it sits backward on my head as Owen goes to open it. He looks to us to make sure we’re ready and then turns the knob. Isaac comes strolling in like he’s living his best life, fist bumping Owen with one hand and holding a six pack in the other.

“What’s up, my man?” he asks. “Too bad you didn’t punch that prick. He deserves it.”

Cam chuckles darkly. “Yeah,too bad.”

Isaac’s eyes widen but before he can move, I grab him and throw him up against the wall. My fist slams into his stomach, and he hunches over in pain.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” I feign concern. “Did that hurt? Let me help you.”

I push his head down and my knee comes up, striking him in the face and breaking his nose, just like he broke mine. Blood spews out and he looks to Owen for help, but he’s not going to find any.

Not when he started this shit.

Cam looks at the beer that fell to the floor when I kneed him in the face and tsks at Isaac. “That’s a party foul.”

He comes over, grabbing one out of the pack and hitting it against the table to pop the cap off. When you own a bar, you tend to get good at that. Anything to make your job easier, really. Though, we’ll probably have to replace the bartop sooner than we should.

As Cam takes a sip, he sighs in relief. “Nevermind. We’re good.”

I roll my eyes and focus my attention on Isaac. “You played your little fucking game, but it ends today.”

He turns his head to the side to spit blood out onto Owen’s floor. “I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”

Yeah, I expected that.“Do you think I’m fucking stupid? We saw you yesterday!”

“I was walking by and wondered what the hell was going on,” he sneers. “And yeah, it was nice to see people getting the karma they deserve.”

I glance over at Cam. “You believe this piece of shit?”

“Nope,” he says, with a pop to the p.

“Me either.”

Gripping the pack of his neck tightly, I bounce his head off the entertainment center. He looks dizzy but I don’t give him a moment to recover as I throw him back into the wall.

“If you don’t fuck him tonight, can I?” Mali jokes.

Laiken chuckles. “Are you kidding? I love you and all, but I’m worse at sharing than he is.”

I seriously doubt that.
