“Yep.”

“Holy mother of shit!” Cadence exclaims, and I roll my eyes at her dramatics. “So spill, girl. Is he rocking a hot body under all those clothes?”

I shake my head at her. “Sorry, I don’t kiss and tell.”

“Oh, come on!” Cadence whines like a child. “Since when? You told us plenty about Logan.”

“Mason is different.”

The car goes silent for a moment as all three of them appear confused by my tight lips.

“How?” Chelsea’s inquisitive voice speaks up.

“He just is,” I reply flatly, hoping they drop the subject. Feeling Lyndsey’s eyes on me, I glance over to her watching me with a worried expression.

“I really hope you know what you are doing, babe,” she says to me quietly as Cadence continues to ramble on in the back seat. “This is going to be a shitstorm of epic proportions.”

“Well, speak of the devil,” Cadence singsongs as we pull into the school parking lot. I spot Mason leaning against his truck wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans—waiting patiently for me just like he told me he would be in his limerick this morning.

Lyndsey has barely put the car into park before I’m out the door in a flash and heading straight over to him. He smiles when he sees me approaching, and I pick up the pace, breaking into a run and jumping into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist, and planting a kiss on his lips.

We break apart, smiling at each other like a pair of idiots as we nuzzle our noses together affectionately.

“Good morning, baby,” he murmurs in a gravelly voice.

“Good morning, Superman.”

We hear a wolf whistle from behind, and I let go of Mason, sliding down his body until my feet touch the ground.

“Well. Well. Well. If it isn’t Lois and Clark,” Cadence quips as she struts up to us with Lyndsey and Chelsea. “Hey CK,” she acknowledges him with a nod, and he nods back.

Lyndsey eyes him skeptically for a moment before greeting him and choosing to ignore her aloofness; I turn my attention back to Mason.

He links his hand with mine and looks down at me. “Ready to go in?” I nod my head, and he gives me a wink before leading me into school.

If I thought datingLogan put me in the spotlight, walking into school holding hands with Mason is on a whole other level. As soon as people spot us, their eyes go wide with shock.

Jeez, you would think the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just arrived.

Everyone is staring at us and whispering among themselves, and to be honest, it is really starting to piss me off.

What the hell is the big deal?

Mason ignores them and leads me to my locker like he really couldn’t give a shit. Maybe it’s time to take a leaf out of his book.

Opening up my locker, I spot my pink flower and pick it up, waving it in front of Mason. “So tell me. How exactly did you find out my locker code?”

“Don’t know what you are talking about.” He looks away, dismissing me, and I roll my eyes.

“Damn, baby girl. You sure know how to make an entrance.” Eric chuckles as he approaches. Mason’s eyes narrow into slits, and Eric gives him a nod. “Mason.”

“Eric,” Mason replies dryly.

Ignoring Mason’s calculating stare, Eric turns his attention to me. “So you two, eh?” He waggles his eyebrows, making me laugh.

I glance over his shoulder and notice Logan standing by his locker, scowling at us. If looks could kill, we would all seriously be dead right now, but I really couldn’t care less.

It’s not up to him to decide that I’m ‘off-limits.’
