When I arrived on his office floor, I stepped off the elevator with more confidence than I’d felt in my life and headed straight to his office.

How do I know where it is?

“Because he’s your perfect mate. You’ll always feel him and smell him.”My mother’s voice informed me, invading my thoughts.

I gave a quick knock and entered his office, and an overwhelming emotion filled me.

“Hello, Sweetheart.” He got up from his desk and came to greet me.

“I had the best day!”

He wrapped his arms around me, swinging me in a circle while kissing me. “I’m so happy for you!”

We took a seat on the couch in his office, and I caught him up on the design session with Hera and Ralph. He hung on my every word and I couldn’t stop talking. During our talk, someone brought dinner in and we had a wonderful evening together.

Chapter Fifteen

Frank

We were sitting in the sunroom, enjoying morning coffee as Pricilla stared at my phone on the table between us. “Do I really need to call?”

“Sweetheart. She’s your mom. She’s been worried.” My hand covered hers. “I’ll be right here with you.”

Her shoulders sagged, and she reached for the phone and punched in the number. I scooted closer to her, and she put the phone on speaker for us both to hear.

“Hello?”

“Mom?” Her voice trembled, speaking the simple word.

“Pricilla?” The voice whispered. “Oh, gods… is it really you?”

“It’s me, mom.”

“Are you okay? Where have you been?” We could hear sobs between her words.

“Um, I wasn’t. Then someone saved me and now I’m good.” She gave my hand a squeeze.

“Baby, where are you?”

“I’m in Cloud City.”

“Holy cats! How did you end up there?” Her mom half chuckled. “Wait. Let me come to you and we can talk. Where should I meet you?”

Pricilla looked at me, and I leaned in, pressing a kiss to her nose. “This is your home.”

“Pricilla? Who is that talking?”

“That’s Frank, mom. He’s who rescued me.” She smiled at me. “He’s right. You should come to our home.”

“I’ll send a chariot to get you, and they’ll know where to bring you.”

“Thank you, Frank. I can’t wait to meet the person who rescued my girl.” Relief filled her voice, and I saw Pricilla relax.

“Can you be ready within the hour?” I asked as I lifted the phone up to send a message to the chariot company and handed it to Pricilla to input her mom’s address.

“Absolutely.” A small sob came out again.

“I’ll see you soon, mom.” Pricilla wiped tears from her eyes.
