It’s not like Glen and I haven’t talked about marriage. We have. I know we both have the same goals and values when it comes to partnership. I figured that this is where we were headed eventually. However, I had no idea Glen was this keen, but like he said, anyone who knows us knows that we are going to end up together, come rain or shine. We just love each other too much.
I smile down at Glen and say, “As if you have to ask… Yes, I will marry you.”
The small crowd gathered around us erupts in applause and cheers.
Glen slides the ring on my finger and gets to his feet. He kisses me then whispers in my ear, “That pause was a bit long. I was afraid you were going to say no.”
“There was no chance of that ever happening,” I reassure him. “I can’t wait to start our life together.”
“Me neither. I can’t wait to be your husband, and for you to be my wife. We are going to be so happy together.”
I am not sure about many things in life, but I am sure about the promise he’s just made, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for both of us.
