He’s still dangerous. He’s still a criminal.

But he’s not dangerous tous, her inner Omega purrs. He’s only dangerous to everyone else.

That will suffice for now, she supposes.

She’ll deal with the rest of it later.

His tongue continues to lap at her, and he murmurs wicked words when he comes up for air.

“I could die right here,” he says, licking a thick stripe up her slit. “Just buried in this cunt. If I ever get too much for you, baby, just sit on my face until I suffocate.”

“You alreadyaretoo much,” she gasps out, but he simply chuckles and fingers her lazily. In moments, she’s arching off the mattress, her cunt over sensitized to the point of pain.

She has to beg him to let up, and when he finally does, she succumbs to fatigue, her head collapsing against the freshly laundered pillowcase.

Finally, her body temperature cools, and her arousal fades.

Rational Audrey makes a reappearance, and she pads over to the bathroom to take in her reflection.

She looks like she was hit by a truck.

Her hair is wild and frizzy, the dark locks tangled from sweat and fluids. Her neck and chest are covered in tender red marks. Bruises in the shape of handprints decorate her inner thighs.

Her mating gland is inflamed, but absent of teeth marks.

He didn’t bite her.

She was pinned under him for hours on end, but he didn’t do it.

He had threatened it before, so what stopped him this time?

As she steps under the showerhead, washing away slick, cum, and sweat, she tries to think of an answer.

It’s pointless. She doubts she’ll ever know exactly how Julian works.

After she dries off, clean but still sore, she dresses in a sweatshirt and jeans and makes her way into the front room.

She swallows, unsure of what to say to Julian after everything.

She finds him sitting on the couch with Pearl in his lap, stroking the cat’s fur absentmindedly. The television is turned on, and a news channel plays in the background.

He meets her gaze and gives her a half smile. “How are you feeling, baby?” he asks softly.

She pauses. “Sore, but…” she trails off, watching her cat interact with him. “You’re like the cat whisperer. I can’t figure it out why she likes you so much.”

He shrugs. “I’ve always gotten along with animals,” he says. “Before I presented, I was studying to be a veterinarian.”

She stares at him, dumbfounded. “Youwhat?”

He continues to pet Pearl, amused. “Cats were my favorite. Some things never change, I guess.”

She tries to imagine a younger Julian, scar free and with a genuine smile interacting with animals.

It’s the exact opposite of the man in front of her.

She steps closer to the couch tentatively, unsure of how to respond to him. His scent is warm and inviting, and she fights every instinct to sit next to him. Instead, she leans against the armrest on the opposite side from him.
