I walk past him and open the door. As usual, the smell of weed is overpowering and causes me to cough. Christian growls under his breath as we walk into the building. I glance behind to find him glaring at Sam’s front door. I haven’t told him that’s the landlord yet as I don’t trust him not to confront him. Christian may not fight anymore but I know he still trains and his physique shows how fit he is. I also know how intimidating he can look at times, put the two together and I have no doubt he could cause some real damage if he wanted to.

I walk up the stairs and unlock the front door to my apartment. The smell of damp is stronger after spending some time away from this place, and somewhere as clean as the guys.

“This is where you’ve been living?” Christian asks as he walks into the kitchen. He looks so out of place in his pristine designer suit, crisp white shirt, and smart shoes. This man always looks like he should be walking the red carpet, not in a place as dark and depressing as this. It’s no wonder my moods have been so low recently, this place can suck the happiness out of anyone.

“It’s not much,” I whisper as Christian walks around and looks in the cupboards. He turns and gives me that look he gets, which now makes me think about him taking me over his knee. Fuck, what is the matter with me?

“Sweetheart, a hole would be better than this place, you deserve so much more,” he replies before walking into the bedroom. I follow him in and walk over to the tiny bed. I reach underneath and pull out a small rucksack and suitcase.

“Where are all your things?” Christian asks as he looks around. I shrug as I open the bag.

“Most of it I had to leave at the house, I only picked up the essentials when she was out one day. I haven’t risked going back since to get the rest,” I admit. Christian walks up to me and hooks a finger under my chin, forcing me to look at him.

“Tonight, you are going to tell me what happened, then we will go in the next couple of days to get your things.”

I shake my head. “I’ll go on my own, she’ll be vile, you don’t need to see that,” I protest but Christian’s brows arch as he argues.

“All the more reason for you not to go on your own. I will be with you, or one of the others, I won’t risk you getting hurt.”

“You can wait outside, if it’s just me then she won’t be so bad,” I continue to protest. Christian shakes his head and kisses me on the forehead.

“Let’s just get your things out of this place first. We will decide what to do about the rest, later.”

I nod knowing there is no point fighting it right now.

“Thank you.” I turn around and start piling stuff into the bag. Christian is just passing me a photo of the five of us I keep on the bedside table when his phone rings. He looks down at it and curses.

“I need to take this, I’ll be right back,” he says before heading out of the apartment.

He’s only gone for a minute before I hear the front door open again.

“That was quick?” I call as I hear footsteps heading towards the bedroom. I turn to find not Christian but Sam standing in my doorway. “What the hell? Get the fuck out of my flat!” I yell standing tall. He looks down at the bag by my feet and I see his face change.

“You haven’t given me a month’s notice, you little bitch. Don’t think you can move out without paying a month’s rent!” he growls as he steps towards me.

“I’m paying you fuck all,” I growl back as I take a step away from him. I can see from his eyes he’s high and after my upbringing, I know how quickly a high person can turn nasty.

“You’ll pay me what you fucking owe bitch,” he hisses. I can see him looking me up and down before an evil smirk appears on his face. “Or if you haven’t got the money, you could pay another way? I hear you ballerinas are very flexible, I know a few people who would pay good money for a night with you.” He walks slowly into the room, heading straight towards me with a sick smile on his face. And I have no doubt what he has on his mind. He stops just in front of me and runs a finger down my arm. “If you don’t want to be shared around, I’m sure me and you could come up with our own agreement on how you can pay for this place.” I move away from his touch and watch as his face changes. “Stuck up bitch.”

As he steps forward to grab me I react on instinct and bring my knee up, hitting him between his legs. As soon as he crumples over holding himself I run from the room desperate to get to the front door and crash straight into Christian’s broad chest.

“What …?” he doesn’t get any further when Sam comes rushing out of the bedroom.

I watch as Christian’s eyes darken, he looks down at me in his arms and then at Sam whose face has drained of colour.

“Fuck!” Sam curses as he runs back into the bedroom slamming the door closed behind him. Christian storms towards it, and with one hard kick the door flies open and he charges into the bedroom. I hear Sam grunting from inside before he comes flying out landing in a heap on the floor. Christian storms up to him and has him pinned against the wall in one move like he weighs nothing.

“Did he touch you?” Christian growls as he looks into my eyes. I shake my head, unable to speak.

“Who is he?” Christian asks as he pulls a flip knife from his pocket and holds it against Sam’s cheek.

“My landlord, he lives downstairs.”

Christian turns back to Sam. “Do you know who I am?” I watch as Sam’s eyes widen further and he gives a small nod, as he moves the knife edge cuts into his cheek. Not deep, but enough to draw blood. I watch as Christian makes a point of making sure the blood doesn’t touch him.

“Good, because you have just put yourself on my shit list. You upsetmyJasmine, you upset me and my brothers. Do you know what we do to people who upset us?”

The guy quickly nods.
