“Good. Hopefully, she’ll start healing now. Tell her I will come and see her when I get back.”
“Will do, let me know how it goes.”
Jason gives me a thumbs-up as he walks out of the door, closing it behind him.
For a moment I close my eyes and just breath. It should have been me going to this meeting with Taylor. It was me that called it in the first place, but right now I can’t bring myself to leave Jasmine and Jason saw that. I sigh as I feel my phone vibrate again in my hand. Unlocking the screen, I see three messages all from an unknown number.
The first message is a picture of Jasmine walking with another girl. From the looks of it, the picture was taken today at her dance school. I feel my jaw clench as I open the second message.
Unknown: I wonder what your Jasmine would think if she found out some of the evil things you have done. Do you need a reminder?
I may not have told Jasmine everything I have done over the years, especially during the early days when I had no choice thanks to my father’s dealings, but she knows enough for nothing to come as a shock. The text doesn’t annoy me, but the photo of her does as they have been watching her. I will find out who it is and make sure they never go anywhere near her again.
I open the last message and freeze as bile fills my throat and I look at the one face I will never forget, that still haunts my dreams.
The face of the first person I ever killed.
Unknown:It’s time for you and your brothers to pay for all that you’ve done.
