“Why are you all away at the same time?” I ask looking between the two of them.

“It’s just the way it’s come about. The twin’s trip has been planned for a while, I need to go and check out a new venue for a club and Christian has a meeting with some of our contacts to discuss some issues that have arisen overnight.”

“Can’t I come with one of you?” I ask slightly annoyed. I knew the twins were going, it’s a friends stag do. But I thought I had the weekend just the three of us and was looking forward to it.

“No Jazzy, we need to have our wits about us. Neither of us knows how our trips are going to go. I would rather know you are safe here,” Jason adds as his hand runs up and down my back.

I nod as I look down at my hands in my lap.

“It’s the first time you’ve all been away at the same time,” I point out quietly. There have been many times one or two of the guys have been away but there has always been someone here with me. I know they spend a lot more time at home since I moved in, as before they would often stay away to deal with various premises or meetings and so on.

“I know sweetheart, but you will be fine here on your own. Layton and Calvin are staying on-site and will take you anywhere you need to go. Any problems you can shout for them, and they will come running,” Christian adds. I nod as I look at him.

“Okay,” I reply trying to hide how gutted I am.

Christian stands pulling me to my feet at the same time. He wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head.

“Good girl, it’s only for two nights at the most. I’m sure you can keep yourself occupied in that time.”

I nod into his chest and look into his blue eyes.

“We need to get going, come here Jazzy.”

I let go of Christian and walk straight into Jasons arms.

“Behave yourself and I’ll think about bringing you home a surprise,” he whispers into my hair. I lift onto my tiptoes and press a kiss to his lips.

“I’m always good,” I point out smiling innocently. Jason grins down at me as he kisses me again.

“That’s debatable.”

I roll my eyes as I give Christian a quick kiss before they both pick up the bags I hadn’t spotted before and head out of the sitting room. I follow them until we get to the garage door at the back of the kitchen.

“Be careful, both of you,” I call as they climb into their cars. I notice Terry in Christians and another security guy in Jasons. I feel a little calmer knowing they’re not going on their own.

“We will, baby. Behave!” Christian calls out as he drives out of the garage.

“See you later angel,” Jason shouts as he follows closely behind. I sigh as I close the door and look into the kitchen where even Mrs Brown isn’t to be seen.

This weekend is going to suck. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and pull it out. I quickly read a message from one of my friends and smile. Or maybe it won’t.

I climb out of the car and salute playfully at Layton who points to the back door angrily.

“Get in there now!”

“Oh, lighten up!” I laugh as I head to the back door. That mood quickly shifts when my mobile rings in my hand. I look down at the caller’s display and curse.Uh oh.

“Hey, Daddy,” I answer in my sweetest voice, in the hope of keeping the peace.

“Don’t ‘hey Daddy’ me! You’re drunk!”

I guess it won’t.

“No, I’m not!” I argue before Maximus growls down the phone.
