He laughed. “And thank you too, Ms. Myers. It was my pleasure.”

They were still standing naked from their waists to their knees. She was running her thigh against his cock, and he was wondering whether she wanted to have a second go. He started to slide his hands up her body…wanting to grab a hold of those firm breasts that she was pushing into his chest.

He was little disappointed when she stepped back and said, “Maybe we’d better get going. They’ll be wondering what happened to us.” She pulled up her panties and wriggled into her pants.

He pulled his pants up too, and then reached into the saddlebag and took out a blanket. “Let’s sit for a while,” he said. He threw it down on the ground and handed Eden a bottle of water. He pulled the top off his bottle and drank half of it while she settled down on the blanket, sitting cross-legged and looking up at him with a beautiful smile on her face.

“Do you think they'll know what we were getting up to?” she asked.

“What do you think?” he said. She rolled her eyes. “I know what Boots will be thinking.”

“Oh no,” she said, as she blushed, thinking back to Boots turning up the music to drown out her moans of pleasure. “I can get a little noisy,” she said.

“I hadn’t noticed,” he said.

“I hope you don’t mind,” she said. “You get me so turned on.”

“It’s the best compliment a guy could have,” Cruz said.

They drank their water and Cruz said, “We can tell them we were sightseeing.” He raised his eyebrows and laughed. “No one will believe us, but that’s our story, right?”

She nodded and then she said, “What you think about Brian?”

“What you mean?” Cruz asked.

“There is something strange about him,” Eden said. “Even the way he was looking at me as we were riding out of the campground. I have a feeling there's something going on with him…and I think it’s got something to do with you, or me, or both of us… I'm not sure.”

“To tell the truth, I’ve been thinking there's something off about him too,” Cruz said. “Now that you’re saying the same, it only confirms my belief.”

“Do you think he knows one of us?” Eden asked.

“Well, I don’t know him…or at least I can’t place his face,” Cruz said. “And why would he be bothered following you? You don’t have any enemies, do you?”

“Not at all,” she said.

They were both quiet for a while, then Cruz said. “I’m sorry I don't like to talk about Wendy, in front of you, but…”

He’d told Eden a little more about Wendy and the accident when they’d been lying on their airbed the night before. He hadn’t gone into much detail, but she could tell it had had a big impact on his life. She understood how things like that could change a person, but the man she was looking at now didn’t need any changing from who he was. From what she’d discovered in the little time she’d known him…he was just perfect.

“No, no, that's okay,” she said. “You can talk to me about anything you like. You know that, right?”

“Yeah, sure. It's just that the last time I rode with Wendy, her leather pants were ripped on one leg. Her right leg,” he said.

Eden scrunched her eyebrows together. “What are you saying?”

“It’s probably just a coincidence. But I remember asking her at the time how that happened, and she said that she snagged it by putting her leg over the back of a friend’s bike. I never asked who the friend was. I never asked her how she snagged it, but it had gone right through the leather, and she had a Band-Aid on her leg.”

“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” Eden asked.

“I’m not saying anything, really. It might just be a coincidence. But Brian has had the same bike all this time, and it’s got that cross on the back. It would be so easy for anyone who was mounting the bike by putting their leg over the back to catch that cross. You said so yourself.” Eden nodded. “I know that that’s the way Wendy used to mount my bike back then. I had a low sissy bar on my chopper. She didn’t have to step through like you’ve had to do with me on this bike.” He was pointing to the sissy bar on the back of his bike.

“Why don't you just ask Brian if he ever knew Wendy?” Eden said.

“Yeah, maybe I could do that. But you know…” He frowned, and Eden waited for him to continue. “I think I’ll just park that thought for a while and see what else I can get out of him, because if he was involved with her, he’s going to be very cautious about what he says to me.”

After having a short rest on their backs in the sun, they decided they’d better get back on the road. Neither of them talked about Wendy or Brian again, but Cruz was determined, when they’d caught back up with the pack, that he was going to find out exactly why Brian was there…one way or another.
