“You look familiar.”

That brought her out of her thoughts, and she said, “I doubt it.”

“No, really…you seem so familiar.”

I wish.“I’m sorry…can I help you?” she asked.

“I’m here to help you,” he said. He could see she didn’t know why, so he said, “You got a gator in your yard.”

Her eyebrows shot up and she said, “Yes, yes…I almost forgot, sorry. It’s out back. Come in.”

She turned away from him and headed into the house as he followed, looking at her curvy ass in her tight jeans.Fuck, look at that butt.He was the one distracted now as he almost crashed into her from behind when she stopped at the window that looked out into her yard.

“There he is,” she said. She turned back suddenly with a look…was it excitement?…on her face.

He couldn’t tell whether she was scared of the gator, or thrilled that something like that had disturbed what looked like an ordinary life as he did a quick scan of the room they were in. It looked sterile. No photos, no art on the walls. Even the couch was devoid of cushions and the floor was hard boards and no carpet. Everything looked spotlessly clean…like a fucking surgery.

“Why do you think it’s a ‘he’?” he asked.

“Look at the size of him,” she said.

“Doesn’t mean it’s a male,” he said.

She twisted her nose up and said, “No. It could be a fat female like me.”

“What? No! Why would you think that?”

She opened her hands and said, “Why wouldn’t I?”

She’s got a serious case of low self-esteem.“You look as sexy as hell.” He could tell by the look on her face that she didn’t believe him, so he said, “Seriously…if you weren’t taken I’da asked you out.”

“What makes you…”

He looked at the ring on her finger and she quickly covered it with her other hand. He smiled and she blushed. The sound of another Harley approaching wiped the smile that had just spread across her face right off it.

“Are you OK?” he asked.

“Yeah, sure.” She was looking at the door. He turned to see what it was.Nothing.It was still open but apart from the sound of the approaching bike, nothing had changed.

“You sure you’re sure?” The Harley got louder as it approached the house and then it turned into the drive and Gator could see the rider park it directly behind his bike, blocking him in. “Just as well I got something to do. Looks like that guy doesn’t want me to leave.”

“You best get out back and see what you can do with that monster,” she said.

With the look on your face, the monster coming to the door seems like more trouble. I wonder what the fuck that’s all about?

“What’s this?” the man said before he’d even walked in the door.

“There’s a gator in the backyard and he’s come to get rid of it,” she told the man.

Gator strode up to the man and held out his hand, as he said, “Gator.”

“Yeah, I heard,” the man said. “What’s your name?”

“Gator,” Gator said.

“Really?”

“Yeah. Got it on account of my job.”
