I block her out, though. My attention all for Jeremy, who’s now sprawled on the floor and staring up at me with a mix of surprise and horror. I don’t see any guilt, though. That pisses me the the fuck off. The little shit’s been messing around on my sister and he doesn’t even have the decency to look guilty about it?

I reach down and haul him to his feet, dragging him to a nearby wall and shoving him against it, my forearm coming up to block his windpipe. I’m not usually an aggressive guy; I’ve always preferred to work out my frustrations on the field or in the gym. But when it comes to my family…my baby sister…

God damnit. We welcomed Jeremy into our family; we supported his relationship with Cait; we didn’t even make all that many threats against him when they started dating.Well, that was obviously a mistake…

In my periphery, I see the guy Jeremy had been grinding all over when we came in start to crawl off the couch. “Ahh…maybe—”

“You stay right there, asshole,” I growl at him.

He has the fucking audacity to look at Jeremy, as if seeking approval or reassurance or something. Jeremy gives the barest of nods—I guess he can’t really move his head all that much with how my forearms pressed against his neck—and the guy sits back down on the sofa.

“Ellie, get your phone out, babe. Call the others.”

Jeremy’s eyes widen. “That’s not necessary,” he chokes out.

“Oh, I think it’s very necessary,” I snarl.

“Oh my god, what the fuck are you doing?” I hear an angry voice cry from the doorway to Jeremy’s apartment.

I twist my head around to see Cait standing there, holding Dylan in her arms and glaring at me.

“Caity, you don’t need to be here,” I tell her, my voice gentling. “I’m taking care of it.”

“Taking care ofwhat?”She demands. Then her eyes narrow on where my arm is still holding Jeremy. “For fuck’s sake, Finn. Put him down!”

“I will not!”

She grinds her teeth together, her eyes blazing at me as she appears to channel our mother. “Put. Him. Down.”

With a heavy sigh, I release my hold of Jeremy and step back a little, watching with satisfaction as he slumps to the floor.

Cait casts me one more livid glare before—to my absolute horror—making a beeline for the guy her boyfriend was just getting hot and heavy with and placing Dylan in his arms. Then she rushes over to Jeremy and crouches beside him.

“God, I’m so sorry. Did he hurt you?”

“I’m fine,” Jeremy rasps.

Cait turns another icy glare on me. “He can barely breathe!”

“Baby, I’m fine,” he assures her, reaching out to clasp her hand. “It’s not a big deal, I swear.”

“Okay, what the fuck is going on?” I demand.

Cait gets to her feet, taking a defiant pose with her arms crossed over her chest. “If I tell you, you have to promise not to be weird.”

“Why would I be weird?” I say defensively.

Cait just rolls her eyes and lets out a sigh. Throwing out an arm in the direction of Jeremy’s make-out buddy, she says, “This is Miller. Our boyfriend.”

I glance between the three of them for a moment, my mind replaying the scene I walked in on earlier in the light of this brand new information. I guess now I know why Jeremy’s door was open; because he wasn’t trying to hide what he was doing. Behind me, I can hear Ellie chuckling softly—sonot appreciated.

I nod slowly, doing another glance around the triad. “So, you’re dating both of them?”

“Yes. And they’re dating each other as well as me.”

“I’m also Dylan’s father,” Miller pipes up.

Cait winces, and I can tell from her expression this isn’t information she was planning on sharing right now. And I can understand why, considering the second the words leave the guy’s lips, I feel my hackles rising again.
