“Don’t worry, you’re not nearly as tempting as your sister,” Finn says with a grin. “I think I can probably keep my hands from roaming.”
Nate’s face flames bright red and he starts sputtering. “That wasn’t—I didn’t—I don’t—”
I send Finn a glare of annoyance before smiling at my brother. “Calm down, he’s just teasing.”
“Sorry,” Finn says, offering a genuine smile.
Nate shrugs. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have freaked out. I’m just not really used to jokes like that.”
I’m expecting Nate to bolt back to his room, but he surprises me by striding up to Finn and holding out his hands. “Okay, what do you need me to do?”
It’s amazing what three months can do. I doubt Finn will ever beDancing with the Starsmaterial, but he’s definitely managed to nail the routine we’ve choreographed for our video. Of course, it made a huge difference once the rugby season ended and we were able to practise more often. Carmichael won the championship, just in case you were wondering, so Finn’s pretty much been on cloud nine since May.
The only problem is, once we started dress rehearsals,Iwas the one who couldn’t keep my hands from roaming. But come on—Finn in a red leotard, black fishnets, and gold heels? I’m only human, damn it!
“Whoa, hang on a minute. This ismydance space,” Finn says with a teasing grin as he half-heartedly pushes away my advance. “Thisis yours.”
“Oh mygod,”I hear Aidan groan from the direction of the sofas. “Are we filming this or not? I didn’t fly all the way over here just to watch you two paw at each other.”
I turn to fix him with a pointed look. “Are you seriously playing that card? After all the times you and Ben went at it right in front of me back when you were still in New York?”
I can understand why Aidan’s getting grumpy, though. We’ve already filmed two versions of this dance and neither was done in one take. We need to film the dance three times so we can edit it together in our version of the “Hungry Eyes” montage. The first version we did had me in a tank top and denim shorts, and Finn in nothing but a pair of black sweats—a la Johnny and Plain Baby. Then we did another one with Finn still in sweats and me in a t-shirt, tights, and heels—a la Johnny and Sexy Baby.
Now Finn’s all dressed up in full makeup, leotard, tights, and heels so we can film the part of the video that inspired this whole thing.
“That’s completely different, Ben’s not your brother,” Aidan points out. Then he cranes his head around as though looking for something. “Where is your brother, anyway? I haven’t seen him since I got here.”
I frown, glancing back toward the hallway. “He’s in his room, I think. He’s been in there a lot lately, actually. I thought he was starting to come out of his shell a bit but...” I trail off with a sigh.
“Do you think it could be…” Aidan gestures at me and Finn, his meaning obvious.
I give a half-hearted shrug. “I don’t know. I hope not.”
“I’m sure he’s fine.” Finn offers a reassuring smile. “He’s just a normal twenty-four-year-old guy who needs a little space.”
I nod my acceptance of his point. “Yeah, I guess.”
“Come on, angel, let’s finish this before my feet go numb,” Finn says.
I roll my eyes. “I told you to go for the shorter heels.”
“Yeah, but these are so much sexier,” he says with a grin, lifting his foot to show off his gold, strappy five-inch heels.
Yeah, okay, he might have a point…
ANOTHER EPILOGUE

“You okay?” Ellie asks me with a wry smile. “You look like you might throw up.”
“I’m good,” I assure her, drawing in a deep breath and running my sweaty palms over the expensive pants of my tux.
I hear Ellie let out a soft chuckle and I know I haven’t been even remotely convincing. Okay, yeah, so I’m a little nervous. I’m about to walk my first ever red carpet, and unlike my beautiful girlfriend, I’m not exactly used to the attention of the press just yet.
When Ellie and I started dating, I kind of assumed I’d just be hanging in the background while she did her thing. I mean, who the hell cares about a nobody high school coach, right? And that was the case for a while, but ever since we posted that video a couple months ago, it’s been a different story.
I definitely don’t regret doing the video. Of course, there was some backlash from anti-trans trolls, as we’d expected, but on the whole people responded really positively. Ellie’s popularity has skyrocketed, and she’s even been contracted to do a season ofDancing with the Stars, which I have no doubt she’ll kick butt at.
