“Oh, I’m sure they’ve still got the moves,” he says with a smirk. “But that’s not what I meant.” He turns away from the TV to give me a heated look, his brows waggling suggestively. “You in fishnets and heels, mein fishnets and heels. Imagine how hot that’d be.”

I know it’s not exactly what he means, but as soon as he says the words, my mind is instantly filled with a vision of Finn and me dressed up like Baby and Penny and dancing the mambo to the soundtrack of “Hungry Eyes.” Inspired, I bolt upright and stare at Finn. “Oh my god, we should totally do it!”

Finn just blinks at me, clearly confused by my sudden burst of enthusiasm. “Do what?”

I gesture at the TV. “This. “Hungry Eyes.” We could do a TikTok of the two of us dancing in fishnets and heels. Like a re-enactment of this scene.”

His brows creep up. “You want us to doanothervideo?”

I offer a soft smile. “This would be different. It wouldn’t be someone taking one of our private moments and splashing it all over the internet. We’d actually be in control of this.”

He thinks about it for a long moment before finally nodding. “Yeah, okay. I guess it could be fun.”

I grin and clap my hands together. “Oh, this is going to be so cool! But…maybe not TikTok, though, considering how anti-LGBTQ it’s become.” I consider our options for a moment. “I guess we could do a reel? Or a YouTube video?”

“No, screw it, let’s do TikTok,” Finn declares. “Who cares what the fucking asshole moderators think. We deserve to be on there just as much as anyone else. And even if they ban us after one day, it’ll still be worth it.”

A slow grin spreads over my face as I just stare at the amazing, incredible man I get to call my boyfriend. I reach for him, wrapping my hand around the back of his neck and pulling him toward me for a soft kiss. “I really love you, you know.”

“Yeah, I know.” He flashes a cocky grin before kissing me back harder, and, as usual, it’s not long before kissing turns into…other things. Even after a month of living together, it’s still pretty much impossible to keep my hands off this man. But seriously, who can blame me?

We’ve been practicing our “Hungry Eyes” routine for a couple of months now and it’s…okay, yeah, it’s not going as well as I’d hoped. Finn did warn me he had two left feet, but I didn’t take him seriously. The guy’s just so talented in pretty much every other area of his life—I found it hard to believe dancing wouldn’t come naturally to him. But I stand corrected.

It probably doesn’t help that our practice time has been limited thanks to Finn’s busy schedule with the team and the fact that I’ve been tied up with press stuff ever sinceQueermericalaunched last month. I’m definitely not complaining considering how well the show’s been doing—already renewed for three more seasons, thank you very much—but I’d be able to appreciate it a little more if it didn’t cut into my time with Finn so much.

“Spaghetti arms,” I chide, as Finn blatantly ignores the dance steps and starts feeling me up instead. “Come on, we only have an hour today and you’re not even trying.”

Finn just smirks. “Can I be blamed if my dance partner’s so sexy my hands won’t stay where I tell them to? I’m the innocent victim here.”

“Uh huh. So if you were dancing with someone else, you’d actually pay attention and learn this stuff?” I ask skeptically.

“Of course.”

“Fine.” I step away from him and stride out of the living room, making my way down the hall until I reach Nate’s room. “Hey, Nate?” I ask with a tap on his door.

“Yeah?”

I push the door open and step inside, finding my brother sprawled out on his bed watching something on his tablet. I can hear faint British accents coming from the device so I think it might be an episode ofBake-Off,which I’ve discovered over the past few months Nate is completely addicted to.

He pauses the show and sets his tablet aside, glancing up at me curiously. “What’s up?”

I smile. “Hey kiddo, do you mind helping me with something?”

He rolls his eys at the nickname but gives a casual shrug. “Sure. What do you need?”

“Come with me,” I say with a grin and stride back toward the living room. Once I reach Finn, I gesture at my brother with a triumphant flourish. “Problem solved.”

Finn lets out a rueful sigh, shaking his head wryly.

“What exactly am I doing here?” Nate asks awkwardly.

“Nate, I need you to partner Finn so he can actuallyconcentrateand maybe finally learn these dance steps.”

Nate hesitates, his gaze flicking between me and Finn. “You…want me to dance with aguy?”

I sigh, trying not to let my disappointment show too openly. After months of living with Finn, I’d really hoped Nate might have been able to put aside all my father’s BS teachings about how men aresupposedto behave. But it seems that kind of thing is too deeply ingrained to just disappear overnight. I know Nate’s not bigoted—he’s perfectly comfortable around Aidan and Ben, and he couldn’t be more supportive of me—but I still worry about the affect our parents’ close-mindedness has had on him. And I still blame myself for not trying to intervene sooner.

“You don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with,” I say gently. “But it’d really help us out.”
