She nodded. “I appreciate it. But this can be home too, for now. I’ll stay in the garage apartment until you think it’s okay for Finn for me to be here full time.”

“Thank you. We’ll play it by ear, see how it goes. But he likes you.” Sullivan made no motion to get his own towel. He just used parts of hers until somehow he had unwrapped it entirely and stolen it. “I like you.”

It was amazing how he’d done that. She’d been aware of but powerless to stop it because it would be ridiculous to object to him using a small corner of her towel. Until suddenly he was using it in its entirety and she was totally naked. “How did you do that?” she asked him. “You managed to steal my towel. There’s another one hanging right there.” She pointed to the rod.

He scoffed. “I don’t want that one. I want yours so I can see you naked. It’s not rocket science.”

“You’re ridiculous.” He was also charming and sexy and she couldn’t resist him. “How am I supposed to get to the bedroom? This isn’t a naked house. This is a family house.”

“Damn it. Give me a minute.” He left the bathroom with her towel wrapped around his waist.

She gathered her dress and folded it. She retrieved her panties as well. Sullivan returned with a T-shirt for her to wear. “Ah,” she said. “So this is the T-shirt and no panties portion of the evening?”

He nodded. “I got this shirt six months ago with no idea what good use it would have in the future. Here, give me your dress.” He held his hand out and traded with her.

It was a navy shirt that said “Minnesota.” It was perfect.

“You look good in my shirt. But you’ll look even better out of it.” He gave her a wicked grin.

“You can’t be serious,” she whispered as they went down the hall to his bedroom. A glance around showed Sullivan was neat and organized. He was going to have to adjust to her less than tidy style of living. “We’ve already had sex twice.”

He locked the door and removed the towel, hanging it on a hook on the back of the closet door. “There aren’t rules on how many times you can have sex in one night.”

She slipped under the covers, admiring him naked as he came toward her. “I’m pretty sure there are.” She glanced at his growing erection in amazement. “Or I could be wrong.”

“The only rule with you and me is we do what we want, Ed.” He climbed into bed and shifted right up against her.

His skin was warm, his cock firm against her hip.

“What do you want?” she asked him.

“You. Forever and always.”

“You have me.”

The kiss he gave her was both tender and intense.

“What do you want?” he asked.

“I have everything I want.” It was true. She did. “Except your cock inside me.”

Sullivan lifted her thigh onto his hip. He pushed into her with a commanding thrust. “Then you have everything you want.”

Edwina gave a sigh of pure satisfaction. She one-hundred percent had everything.

Epilogue

Sullivan surveyed his bar, filled to the brim with patrons playing shuffleboard in a charity tournament for breast cancer research in Kendra’s memory. It had replaced the questionable (but damn successful) strip event of the previous years. It made him proud of both his business and what he was doing in the cherished memory of his son’s mother.

He also watched his family moving around the room, his sister following behind a now toddling Penelope, his father carrying his baby daughter, Olivia, around in the crook of his arm, looking smug as hell with himself and his legacy.

That was exactly how Sullivan felt. Proud and maybe a little smug.

He searched the room until he found his wife.

Hiswife.

They had gone down to the courthouse in February and gotten married when they’d found out Eddie was expecting their baby. She’d become his wife. It felt easy and natural and wonderful to say that word. He loved Eddie in the role. She was the perfect partner.
