“Thanks! Don’t have too much fun without me.”

I wink. “I will.”

“Love you!” Mom and Dad call as I get out and shut the car door. I wave at them and Mia before meeting up with Lily as she gets out of the car. Liam gets out after her.

“Hey,” I say.

“Willow!” Lily flings her arms around me. “Fancy meeting you here,” she jokes.

I return the hug, then face her brother. “Liam, what are you doing here? It’s girls only.”

“I know, I just wanted to say hi to Chloe. And you guys,” he quickly adds.

I smile crookedly. “Nah, you’re here for Chloe.” I wink.

“Willow, what’s up?” Evie lowers her window and sticks her head out, her dark hair falling into her brown eyes.

“Hey, Evie. Did you see how the logo and design came out on my app? I think it looks amazing. I couldn’t have done it without you because my artistic skills are worthless. Again, thanks so much.”

“No problem. The best friend of Sibling One and Sibling Two is a friend of mine, too. I didn’t have a chance to check out the app, though.”

“Why not? You don’t want to use it? How many times do I need to tell everyone that I’m not going to spy on how many hours they waste away on social media?”

“I couldn’t care less about that,” she says. “I don’t need the app because I don’t want a boyfriend.”

“Because Evie spends day and night perfecting her portfolio for art college when it’salreadyperfect,” Lily says, rolling her eyes.

“Yeah, the creature only surfaces from her lair to eat,” Liam adds with a chuckle.

Evie gives her siblings a look. “Do I not go to school every day and drive your ungrateful butts, too?”

“It wouldn’t kill you to ease up on your art and maybe try to explore romance,” Lily says. “You never know what will happen. Maybe you’ll meet the perfect guy who will sweep you off your feet—”

Evie groans. “Enough with this, Lily! Your head has shot into the clouds ever since you fell in love with Xavier and it hasn’t come down. Are you going to stay in the honeymoon phase forever?”

“Yes.”

Evie shakes her head with a frown. “There are more important things in life than romance. Now if you don’t mind, there’s a self-portrait waiting for me in my ‘lair’ that this creature must attend to. Have fun at the sleepover.” She looks at Liam. “In or out, Sibling One.”

“Just give me a second to say hi to Chloe.”

“Download my app as you wait,” I urge her.

She purses her lips. “The last thing I need is any romantic entanglements. I’m graduating in a few months, so it doesn’t make sense for me to start a relationship with someone.”

Well, it was worth a shot.

Liam, Lily, and I head to the front door. The Knight mansion is huge, with a mesmerizing fountain in the front and lots of greenery. Many people are in awe when they see the exterior for the first time (and the interior is ten times more stunning), but considering I’ve been coming over all my life, I’m used to it.

Just as we reach the door, it opens to reveal a staff member. She leads us inside and takes our jackets, and we thank her. Another staff member takes us to the game room, where Ava and her dad, Easton, are battling her mom, Dani, in an arcade game.

Chloe, who’s sitting on the couch, cheers for Ava and Easton. But as soon as she notices Liam walk in, a huge smile breaks out on her face and she zooms over to him, launching herself into his arms. He lifts her a few inches off the floor and spins her around as she smashes her lips to his.

“Darn it!” Dani slams her hands on the machine as Ava and Easton’s character does a victory dance on the screen. “Okay, rematch. You two are going down—” She cuts herself off when her eyes land on Chloe and Liam, who are now rubbing noses. “Ahem?” she says. “There are no boys allowed at this sleepover.”

“I know,” Liam assures her. “I just wanted to say hi to Chloe.” He laughs sheepishly. “I missed her too much.”

“Aw. I missed you even more.” She snuggles up to his chest.
