“Did you have a nice getaway?” I asked as I breathed in the coconut scent of her hair.

“I was with you.” She clasped our fingers together and set our hands on her stomach. “You made my first trip a dream.”

“Next time we’ll stay longer,” I promised. “There are so many destinations I want to show you. We can jet ski and go on a hike.”

“Can we go back to the village? I loved all the shops.”

“Whatever you want to do.”

“As much as I liked being here, I want to go back to your house and sit by the tree. I’m so excited to spend Christmas with you.”

“You never finished the story about the tree you bought.”

“There isn’t much to tell.” She tensed. “When I brought the tree home my dad was pissed. He threw it in the trash that night.”

“What?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

“It does matter, Emmie.” I held her close to me. “That’s the problem. No one has ever told you how much you matter. You’re trained to believe you don’t matter, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.”

She gazed up at the stars, the moonlight bouncing off her delicate skin. “Why are youso kind to me?”

How could I answer that? If I were a better man, I would have paid off her father’s debt and relocated her somewhere far from me and those other men who wanted to hurt her. What I had done wasn’t kind; it was selfish.

“You don’t have to answer.” She always let me off the hook, and never called me out on my guarded behavior. “I just wanted you to know I appreciate all you’ve done for me.”

“I haven’t done much.”

“That’s because you have no idea where I come from or how difficult it has been for me. These past few weeks have been the best of my life.” She glanced at me and smiled. “I know you bought me, and I should probably be outraged at that, but meeting you was the best thing that’s ever happened to me, so thank you.”

Somehow, it didn’t feel right for her to thank me. Maybe I had drank too much, because her words of gratitude gnawed at my cold heart. What the hell? Why did it sound like she was developing feelings for me? And why wasn’t I horrified?

“The sky is so pretty, isn’t it?”

“Not as pretty as you.”

“You’re such a charmer.” She giggled, making my heart a little warmer.Stop it!

“Can I charm you out of your panties.”That’s better.

“I think so.” She slipped off the lounge chair and wiggled out of her panties. She held them up and twirled them around her finger. “Now what?”

I unbuttoned my khaki shorts and pushed them down my hips, showing off my impressive erection. Placing my hands on her legs. I lifted her dress up and revealed her to me. The tan lines on her hips reminded me of all those sexy bathing suits I’d taken off her the past few days.

She climbed on top of me and pushed the straps of her dress down her shoulders, so I could see the tops of her breasts.

“Vixen.” I licked my lips when she eased herself down onto my cock without any help from me.

When she bounced up and down, finding her own pace, I couldn’t help but get lost in her beauty. Her full, pink lips glimmered in the light of the night sky as her thick curls cascaded over her shoulders and down her back. She smiled when she caught me looking at her.

I reached up and brought her face to mine, kissing her softly, indulging in the tranquility she transferred to me. This encounter was slower than usual. It was her taking the reins and coming into her own. Witnessing that aroused me in ways I couldn’t comprehend.

“You’re beautiful.” I took her face between my hands and kissed her. “You’re mine.”

“Yes.” She bit her lip before kissing me. “I wouldn’t want to be anyone else’s.”

That wouldn’t be an issue since I was never letting her go.Shit! What are you doing to me?
