“Duh.” Astrid wormed her way out of Fen’s grip, who seemed still a little too perplexed to keep her restrained, having been thrown off by Bjarke’s willingness to be so goofy. She held up her phone to Bjarke after he’d thrown his shirt back on.

Bjarke guffawed. “That’s perfect. I want a copy.”

“One copy of a surprised grumpy bear and magical girl bear, coming right up.”

I shook my head. This was one reason I loved this woman.

Bjarke looked at his watch. “It’s almost twenty past nine back home. I should get back before Alecia gets mad. Aya, would you mind?”

She smiled. “Not at all. Fen, do you want to head back to my brother and Dahlia?”

He nodded. “I should before I get too caught up in things here and miss Frey’s dinner plans.”

They said their goodbyes and then disappeared.

“I should be going as well,” Mom said to me.

I nodded, trying to smile, though it was hard. I knew the only reason she was leaving was to allow my dad to feel like he didn’t have to seclude himself. He’d taken the news well about all the supernatural crap once he was in a good headspace to listen to Darius, so we never had to hide what we were all doing. It was just her.

We hugged. She told me she loved me and then disappeared. My pulse kicked up a moment before I managed to settle it. Seeing Aya teleport was easy. Seeing Mom do it made me fear I’d imagined her. I knew that was the trauma, and I’d overcome it. It’d just take time.

I wasn’t alone in my thoughts for long. Astrid came up to me, and her cute face took in the still-visible changes about me with a big smile on said adorable face. I also took her in, relishing in all the extra detail I could see. She was somehow more stunning, and I wasn’t sure if I could take it.

Astrid reached up and touched my horns. I sucked in a tight breath and resisted the urge to groan. The sensation her touch sent through me was indescribable—in the best way possible. It was like she just touched the most intimate erogenous zone imaginable, turning me on to the highest level possible. Will my full dragon form have such sensitivity, or is just this form?

I grabbed her wrists to pull her hands away. She blinked, confused. “They’re incredibly sensitive.”

“Oh.” Her bottom lip caught between her teeth when I gazed at her, conveying what I meant. “Oh…”

My nostrils flared, picking up a spike of arousal in her, mixing with her enticing scent. My cock twitched.

I flicked my gaze to Darius. He grinned. “Yup, still here.”

I blew out a breath. That’s what I thought. That was one way to kill my boner.

Astrid stepped back and cleared her throat. “So, how was training? Successfully turn into a dragon?”

I shook my head. “Only as far as that one form Dahlia made, but definitely better than the last few days. Bjarke was incredibly helpful.”

She beamed. “I knew he would be. I watched him teach so many new Berserkers, I figured he’d have a way to figure out what was blocking your progress.”

“And what about you?” I asked. “I see you picked up a new skill or two.”

While I’d been training with Mom and Bjarke, Astrid and the others met up with Kirby, Azzie, and her protector Davyn for introductions, reunions, and training.

Astrid grinned. “I learned how to make magical massages again.”

My brow quirked. That sounded interesting. “And what exactly are those?”

“It’s the best thing besides sex you’ll ever experience,” Tyr said.

That wasn’t helpful, but also intrigued me at the same time, especially if a war god thought it was even better than the call for battle. “What does it do?”

She smiled. “It’s a form of healing. With the way immortals heal so quickly, their bodies sometimes don’t heal back exactly as they should. Apparently, I figured out a healing technique that got deep into the body and fixed those problems. Even Baldur had felt the effect back then.”

That did sound amazing. “I’d like one.”

She smiled. “After I get my tea?”
