I ventured upstairs to find the room. Switching the light on, I glanced around at the neat and orderly bedroom that belonged to Hollis. I looked over my shoulder, peeking at the door. He hadn’t followed me yet.

Strolling over to the dark coloured, wooden oak desk that spanned the length of one wall to the other, I trailed a finger down the solid material, not even a speck of dust lifted. Turning round I cast an inspection. It was incredible what you could decipher about a person from their private space.

Each piece of furniture in the room matched to perfection, all darkened oak. The entire room was immaculate, spotless. But there was life breathed into the space through the array of books that lived at the side of the desk and splashes of a deep dark navy blue mixed in with the lighter grey painted walls. It was just so him.

I jolted as Hollis materialised by my side in silence. His eyes danced with laughter. Perched on the edge of his desk, he boxed me in, his hands leaned either side of my body. He positioned himself flush against me and my breath hitched as his nose tracked a gentle path from my forehead to my ear.

He spoke, his words were such a contrast to the soft way his mouth traced my skin, sending goosebumps skittering over me. “I’m gonna fuck all the boys you’ve had before me outta you, make you my good little girl who does exactly what I tell her.”Fuck, that’s hot.A noise escaped from me as he retracted.

“What does this mean?” I asked curiously, brushing my fingers over the tattoo on his arm that I’d noticed when he boxed me in. “Bathe in the light, drown in the dark.”

“It means don’t ask questions you don’t want the answer to.” He took a step further back and my fingers dropped as he moved towards the middle of the room away from the heat sizzling at an all-time high between us.Huh?

I traipsed after him but halted my movements suddenly as he removed his hoodie and t-shirt as one, displaying the magnificent tattoo splayed across the entirety of his back. It contoured to every single dip and curve of the bulk of his muscles.

An owl. I approached and he tensed as one hand traced over the lifelike design, marvelling at the art. The owl's knowing eyes stared back at me, an exact colour match for Hollis’ ice blue ones. Without thought I placed my hand steadily on the middle of his back, somehow knowing he needed it.

A ragged breath pulled from him before he turned round. He looked straight into my eyes and I peered directly back, seeing the desire he usually kept hidden away, blazing with a single focus. Me.

If Preston was a warm balm of comfort sunshine wrapped with hidden darkness, Texas was the knife’s edge that kept you always second guessing. Then Hollis, he was your darkest temptation.

I questioned my life choices briefly before I told him, “Fuck me like you genuinely hate me.”

His lips tipped up in a rare smirk and he turned his head over his shoulder. “With fucking pleasure.”

“Restraint,” he murmured, quietly enough for me to think he didn’t want me to hear. That thought flew out of my mind as quickly as it came. He spun round, pulling my arms behind my back, knotting my hands together on my wrists with something soft but strong. It didn’t hurt, but it was tight, no leeway.Fuck. Huh? Oh, right.

My chest arched from how he’d positioned me, my tits on display with the short white crop top I wore. My nipples hardened in anticipation.

Hollis was a powerhouse. Strong, observant anddeadly. Being on his bad side was never a pleasant place to be.

“I’m gonna make you come so many times you’ll be begging for my cock. And once you get it, you’ll be out of your mind with need. Forme.”

“We’ll see,” I stated dismissively.

His chuckle was dark and raised goosebumps on my arms. I stiffened.

“You haven’tseenme yet.”

He was right. I hadn’t seen this side of him. Hollis was an enigma. I’d never been able to get a full read on him, or his emotions. He kept them locked up until he’d decided what he would allow you to see. He was always guarded and protecting himself, from what, I was unsure.

Wrapping his fist around my dark long hair, he tugged on it. He stood over me from behind. Violet-blue coloured eyes clashed with ice-blue ones.

He leaned forward, holding my head still, biting on my earlobe then licking away the sting instantly.Fuck. I was so turned on right now. And I detested it. Hollis had the upper hand in this power display. The perfect submissive. A sick feeling rose from the thoughts ofhimpiercing my mind, ruining this moment.

“Where did those thoughts venture to?” Hollis questioned, letting go of my hair but holding onto my bound wrists to keep me in place.

Scarily perceptive even in the change of a quick thought, it proved he could so easily break my walls down to seek the truth. That couldn’t happen.

Dismissing the thoughts before I fell into a downward spiral, I smiled up at him, wanting to pick up where we left off. “Sorry.” I licked my bottom lip, bringing his attention to it.Distraction. “What was this about coming so many times?”

Eyes blazing with heat, his smirk returned briefly, forgetting about my blip, for which I was thankful. Right now, I needed those thoughts gone, and all I wanted to do was concentrate on what Hollis offered me.

“Sometimes a woman needs to be caressed, touched, and made love to gently.” His fingers glided into the hair on the nape of my head, grabbing a fistful in a firm tug. His voice lowered into a near whisper. “And sometimes she needs to be tied up, restrained, fucked ‘til no coherent words can leave her mouth, and no thought process crosses her mind.”

Coming to stand back before me, he fished something out of his pocket, hands wrapped round it so I couldn’t see. “Stay still,” he warned.

I didn’t understand what he meant until the knife flicked out before me, the metal glinting as it caught the light streaming through the window. My breathing stalled.
