He’s at full mass; I can feel it. I love it when he cums inside me, even more, when we orgasm together. I look at him and see the love in his eyes as he withdraws his hands from my hips and puts them into my hair. He lays me on my back and climbs on top of me, and presses into me a few last times before we both climax.

I scream, and he groans as we look into each other’s eyes. I kiss him halfway through my orgasm as he holds onto my body, so it doesn’t twitch too much beneath him. Breaking from the kiss, I look at him and giggle through heavy breaths. He shakes his head in shock and smiles at me.

“Something new, huh?” I ask breathlessly.

“Yeah,” he chuckles. “Something new.”

We laugh, and he leans down to kiss me. I wrap my legs around him as he rolls to the side and holds me in his arms. His eyes light up in the flames of the candles around us, and he gently pushes my hair behind my shoulder. I hold up my hand to his and play with the palm of his hand while we come down from our exhilaration together in silence, enjoying each other’s presence.

He chuckles again before sighing. “You know, this is all ours.” He motions to the cabin.

“What?”

“The cabin. It’s ours if we want it.”

“But what about the…”

“The tribe is long gone,” he says as he caresses my face. “The guards are here indefinitely, not just for tonight. I’ve had them out looking for the tribe since we got back. Plus,” he sighs as he inches closer and pulls me into him. “Three armed orcs could take out two of those clans.”

“Hurian…”

“You don’t have to answer now,” he says gently. “But just know that this can be our home if you want it to be.”

“Hurian, as long as I’m with you anywhere is home.”

I kiss him and smile widely before curling up into him. He holds me, and I listen to the sound of his heartbeat. I think of how blessed I am again and how lucky our baby is to have such a loving and doting father as I drift off to sleep.

The next morning, I wake up right before sunrise. The trees glow with a pink horizon, and I look out the window to see three pairs of yellow eyes staring at me through the woods. I immediately remember when the pack of wolves circled me in the clearing the day I met Hurian, and my heart begins to race. I shoot up in bed and shake Hurian.

“What? Dana, what’s wrong?” he asks in a musky tone as he rubs his eyes and holds me.

“There,” I point at the window and look where I saw the eyes. There’s nothing there now. “I, there were eyes, there were…”

“Hey, hey.” He pulls me back into bed and puts his arm around me as he plays with my hair. “We can go back to the compound right now if you want.”

“No…” My voice trails off, and confusion overtakes me. I shake my head. “No, I’m sorry honey, I must have been dreaming.”

I feel Hurian fall asleep, his breathing deepening as he drifts off. I continue to look out the window as my heart races in my chest. The eyes must have just been a dream, right?

Today is one of those days where there is barely an ounce of focus on work, strain, and sweat. For good reason of course, for today is the mating ceremony between Hurian and Dana. The gods have blessed them today with warm, clear weather. There isn’t a singular cloud to be spotted in the vast blue sky.

I stand amongst the many who have turned out for them in support today. Hurian walks past me with Dana linked at his arm. As an orc who’s never much been into the concept of a mate for life, even I have to admit how well they look together.

Hurian makes eye contact with me as he comes closer. I nod slowly, showing respect to my fellow orc. He returns the sentiment before straightening his gaze, walking onwards ahead with his mate. Everyone around me watches on proudly, a shared feeling of joy lingering throughout the warm air.

Sometime later, the time to unwind has come. An enticing aroma of food fills the air, mixed with the lively sounds of laughter and children playing. The older orcs gather the children around to spook them with stories, others sing songs and recite poetry of ancient tales, and some, like me, simply chat over a drink.

Around us, the sky darkens to that of an azure blue, welcoming with it the slightest of breezes. I stand around the bonfire with Remar and Umak, listening woefully as they laud over the tradition of mating for life

“I dream of it being a wonderful blessing, to eventually find someone who will join me in pledging ourselves to each other for the rest of our days to come, no matter how short or long I may live,” says Umak.

“Aye,” agrees Remar, nodding as he swigs another mouthful of ale. “I think a mate is what I need in my life. Once I do, I’ll have the missing link I need to die and pass on happily.”

Grimacing, I tune their words out with another drink, swiveling my head back to down my ale. I see their unimpressed gazes on me when I look straight.
