“Isa-ac,” I stammer.

“Hey, bright eyes. I figured I might see you here. Sorry about the room by the way. I would have let you know but you blocked my number. Speaking of which, you owe me money for the new phone I had to purchase.”

“I don’t owe you shit.” I try to walk around him but he sticks out his arm to block my way.

“I think you do. You took off with my property after you dumped me,” he spits out.

I huff out a breath. “I didn’t dump you, Isaac. You ended the relationship when you started sleeping with someone else.”

Scoffing, he grinds his teeth and his hands fall to his hips. “Yeah, and it was probably the best decision I ever made. Danny never fails to please me in bed the way you did.”

“Get out of my way,” I say between clenched teeth.

“There you are, baby,” Isaac’s new toy says, resting his head on his shoulder. “Who’s this?”

“Danny, this is Theo. Theo meet Danny, the person I should have booked this trip with from the beginning.”

“Looks like you got what you wanted in the long run, so enjoy your trip.”

“Oh, we definitely will,” Danny says, wrapping an arm around Isaac with the intent of making me jealous. It won’t work. They can both have each other for all I care.

“Good. Why you chose to come here, I still don’t understand.”

“I didn’t want to lose money on the ticket and Danny checked out all the touristy things to do here. After that, I was sold. Plus, it’s a really nice resort. Too bad you won’t get to experience the rooms the way we have,” Isaac says in a malicious tone.

“Oh, but he will in every way possible. I’ll make sure of it,” a familiar voice says from behind me. My heart thuds in my chest and when I turn around, I want to pinch myself because I swear I’m dreaming. Did I fall asleep mid conversation with Isaac and didn’t notice?

“You invited the kid to come with you? I didn’t know you liked babysitting while on vacation.”

“I could say the same for you,” I snarl before taking in the beautiful smile I’ve been missing since yesterday morning. “Finn. What are you doing here?”

He reaches for my hand. “I saw how sad you looked at the airport and then Mom kept saying how you didn’t sound too excited about coming alone when she last spoke to you. You told her you’ll probably end up spending most of the trip in your room, and I couldn’t allow that to happen. You needed me here, so I’m here.”

Laughter spills from beside us. “Is this kid for real? It’s like he has some crush on you or something.”

“It’s none of your fucking business either way so go take your little trashy boyfriend and go back to having a shitty experience with him in your room.”

“Wait just a minute,” Danny snaps. “Who is this guy again?”

“Someone who’s trying to have a conversation with his boyfriend. Now if you don’t mind, we are going to go somewhere you aren’t. Actually, we’re going to do that anyway whether you mind or not.”

“Wait, did he say boyfriend?” Isaac’s voice grows distant as Finn drags me toward the elevator.

“Stop. Hold on. I don’t have a room here.”

“Yes, but I do.” He presses the white button and it glows red.

My heart jumps in my throat. “You do?”

“Yes.”

“You took my room,” I accuse as the elevators are opening.

His forehead wrinkles and he tugs me inside before the doors can shut. “Come again?”

“They said a room became available today, and you were the one who got it before I did.”

He laughs. “Baby, you do realize I got it for you too, right? It’s not my room or your room. It’s ours.” He presses a kiss to my mouth, wiping my thoughts clean.
