On the small table sat bowls of fruit, boxes of cereal, round tubs of yogurt, toast in a rack, and a pan of scrambled eggs. It was quite the feast, and my stomach rumbled its approval. Scanning the room, I saw no emergency or crisis and sighed in relief.

Savida is back to his old tricks. Dramatic demon.

Daithi and Alcor already sat at the table, food on their plate and hot drinks steaming in their cups.

“We made you breakfast!” Savida cheered, his wings flapping in excitement. “Alcor is a wonder at operating the small cooking machines.”

Charlie’s shoulders relaxed. “Christ, Savida, why didn’t you just say that? I thought we were under attack or something.”

“Attack? Who would attack us?” Savida asked as he scooped up a bowl and started pouring cereal.

“You’ve forgotten about the hordes of witches who hate us? Or the magic-eating dragon? You think they aren’t gearing up to get us?” Charlie drawled as he sat down at the table.

“Not before breakfast,” Savida gasped, scandalized.

“I really don’t think they’d pause an ambush because we hadn’t had our wheaties yet. You muppet,” Charlie muttered and took a plate, a piece of toast, and topped it with eggs. “Morning Alcor. Thanks for this. It looks great.”

“You are welcome. I enjoy cooking and wanted to offer my thanks to you all.”

“No need for that, mate. Just happy to help.”

I asked, “You’ve already informed them of our situation?”

“They are all caught up,” Charlie nodded as he began buttering his toast.

“But what we don’t know is why there was such a ruckus this morning. Especially one requiring Charlie’s help. In the bedroom.” Savida waggled his brow.

“To summarize; Clawdia has been dream walking with the son of the gods, Baelen, who kissed her last night on their adventure, and Clawdia was very upset about betraying Zaide since they’d just done the horizontal tango. But she confessed her love for us both, which was probably unintentional, and apologized … a lot … and we are moving on from it all.” He finished by taking a bite of his toast, the crunch extra loud in the quiet.

“Charlie,” Clawdia groaned as she came out of the room, her fingers finishing braiding her hair.

“Clawdicat, they need to know about the bloke before he shows up,” he replied with wide, innocent eyes.

She glared. “That wasn’t what I was protesting to, and you know it.”

“Was it the part about the horizontal tango?”

She pointed. “Behave yourself.”

His eyes darkened as he stared at his familiar. “I’ve told you about using the nurse tone with me. It’s only going to make me naughtier.”

The blush on her face and sudden heat in her eyes reminded me of our evening and the passion we had shared. My mind flashed with images of bare, supple skin writhing under my touch and my cock twitched

Despite her heated gaze being directed at Charlie, I wasn’t jealous. She licked her lips, caught in the intensity of his gaze, and the tension tickled my skin. With such palpable chemistry, I anticipated the fulfillment of their desires—how it would happen, what it would look like … if I could watch.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to cool my rising hunger and instead satiate my stomach's needs.

“You are building a harem, Clawdia?” Savida asked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and ferried her to the table before sitting her down.

“Not … intentionally,” she muttered as she began filling her plate, and Charlie laughed.

With only four chairs at the table, Savida and I stood. His wings didn’t sit well around the chair, and my knees hit the table. But we hovered as we collected food on our plates. I placed a few more berries in Clawdia’s bowl, concerned that her small portion wasn’t enough.

Savida continued, “I heartily approve of the first additions to your harem, as they are both good friends of mine, but I would like to meet this Baelen before he officially joins.”

I protested, “He isn’t joining the … harem. He is teaching us our powers.”

But it felt like a lie, and the taste of ash filled my mouth. Clawdia said she was drawn to him like she was Charlie and I, so in being frightened and insecure, I could be hurting my soul pair, keeping her from more happiness.
