"Fuck!" I swirl to the side, pressing myself to the wall around the corner from him, while gunfire bombards us from all sides.

A string of cuss words could be heard from all around me. The men behind me mostly.

I take a deep breath. I really hope I didn’t just lead everyone to their deaths.

I hope we can pull this off…

I hope we can make it out of here, with Aria, and everyone else alive.

Although I know that’s a fairytale.

And, where the hell is the other group?

Alessandro is just behind me. I turn to see him and he flashes a look at me, panting against the wall. There’s something in the look. Fear…

I nod to him and scramble down the hall further, my back against the wall, craning my head back and forth. I need to make sure Alessandro gets out of here alive. I have to make sure of it.

"We gotta go!” I snap.

He replies with a curt nod.

Our men are still scouring room after room. Some have started moving pallets over and breaking chains.

I just hope they’re smart enough to have cover while they do that.

So far, so good, though…

No one’s been hit. But that leads me to question, are they actually …aiming?

Or is this a game?

Is this to lead us somewhere specifically?

I grab Alessandro and break from the group, slinging gunfire in every direction as I stand in front of him, covering him with every step.

“Stay close!” I command.

“This doesn’t change anything!” He yells. “I still hate you!”

“We’ll see about that!” I toss over my shoulder.

Another shadowy silhouette pops out from the plastic drapes and appears to my right. A shot rings out, knocking them off their feet. One by one enemies emerge and one by one I shoot them down.

Alessandro is still behind me. I haven’t heard him cry.

But I haven’t heard him shoot a lot either.

I grab him by his shirt and yank him to the end of the hall. Madam Rosa had her meeting with me down this hall. I wonder if that’s where she’s stowing Aria…

But if nothing else, I’m willing to bet I’ll find something there.

“Shit!” Alessandro cries out as soon as I grab his jacket and flip him behind a small doorway as an onslaught of bullets rip and tear down the hall.

“They’re not wanting us to go that way!” I yell out. “They’re actually aiming for us now!”

“Now?!” He bellows. “They weren’t before?”

“That hall is where Madam Rosa stays…” I say, pointing. “I’m going to need you to do something…” I breathe. He looks at me, his expression weary. “I need you to get back there and get Luigi and get at least a few more…” I pant. “I need you to get them and you bring them back right here…”
