Oh this wench was going to be fun to break. She had much more sass than her cousin.

“In fact, you’re lucky Tyler didn’t see you.”

“He doesn’t scare me, little girl.”

She rolled her eyes, actually rolled her eyes at me. The deli shop owner had disappeared out the back presumably to get a bread roll for her order, but I knew he wouldn’t be back until I left.

“You shouldn’t underestimate him,” she said, backing away a little. “He’s not one to be trifled with on his best day.”

“Neither am I.”

I pushed her back, until she hit the wall. She looked up at me, those little green eyes sending my cock against my fly again, begging to be released. Her teeth came out and bit her bottom lip as she looked at me as if I were a tasty dessert.

Oh shit.

My mouth was on hers in an instant, crushing her lips against mine. She moaned as my tongue swept into her mouth, returning my kiss with as much fervor as I was giving her.

Shit.

She tasted like strawberries, like fucking strawberries and cream. I wanted to devour her right here and now. I could probably take her without anyone so much as batting a fucking eyelid at me.

No one would dare interrupt me here.

That is, unless they were related to me, which Bennett was. His voice broke me from the spell of Jolie Caldwell and he pulled me back.

“We gotta go,” he said, urgently. “The boys need us.”

I finally let go of her and left with Bennett, taking one final look back at her as she stood against the wall, her lips red from my kiss.

It had never been like that with Rose.

I’d never wanted a woman like I wanted Jolie.

It scared me a little, but mostly, it intrigued me.

I would have that woman for my own, and it was going to be soon.

Chapter Four

Roman

Father Lorenzo was setting up the church for a service in a few hours. I’d not been able to sleep all night, my mind reliving the kiss in the deli over and over again. Once we sorted the boys out, I’d gone back but she’d gone.

I should have known.

But I didn’t really expect someone as sassy as her to stick around. It just meant I needed to find a way to see her again.

“Why are you here so early?” he queried, knowing me well enough to know something was amiss.

“Can I not enjoy the early morning sunrise?”

“No, now what is it?” he replied with a no nonsense tone.

“Enzo, you need to chill a little,” I said, sitting down in the second pew and putting my feet up on the seat. He knocked them down again and stared at me. The man knew me better than I knew myself. “Fine, I just couldn’t sleep.”

“So you come and sully my doorstep?” he asked.

“Isn’t church meant to be a sanctuary?”
