He shrugged. “He said, ‘what the fuck, dude.’”

“Yeah, I can’t imagine why he’d be annoyed.”

He grunted in response, climbing out of the truck, coming around the passenger side to help me down. “I’ll get steps put on this thing next week.”

And there was the sweet side which mitigated the murderous thoughts. “I don’t know, I kind of like having an excuse for you to put your hands on me.”

He slid me down the length of him, letting me feel every hard plane. “I never need an excuse to touch you, kitten.”

Damn. His voice should be a registered weapon. My eyes locked on his, heat quickly building between us.

“Stop looking me like that unless you want to meet my family while I’m sporting a hard-on.”

My lips curved up in a devious smile. “That sounds like a ‘you’ problem.”

“I could make it an ‘us’ problem real quick,” he countered, dropping his face to my neck to bite me there gently.

So much for thinking I had the upper hand.

The sound of a clearing throat startled me, but Leo took a moment to skim my ear with his tongue before turning to face the intruder.

Peeking around his massive body, I saw Dominic about ten feet away with a beautiful brunette standing next to him who had to be Kelsey.

Both their eyes were wide with shock.

“I never would’ve believed it,” Dominic said, shaking his head.

Leo sighed, breaking away and shoving his hands in his pockets. “Yeah, well, we’re together.”

Both brothers were frowning like the idea was awkward for each of them.

I walked forward with a smile. “Hi, I’m Addy. You must be Kelsey.”

Her smile was warm and genuine. “It’s so nice to finally meet you, Addy. I’ve heard a lot about you. Love your hair.”

My hand touched the locks I’d curled this morning. “Thank you.” I turned toward Dominic, who remained annoyed. “Hi, Nic.”

His expression softened. “Hi, Addy. I thought you two wanted to kill each other.”

I threw a saucy smile over my shoulder. “Half the time that remains true.”

An elegant woman descended the steps in what I could only describe as a combination of purpose and grace. “Hello, you must be Leo’s friend. It’s so lovely to meet you. I’m Anna Chambers.”

Nerves skyrocketed. Mrs. Chambers appeared as though she’d walked off a fashion runway. Her hair was swept up in a twist, her clothes looked as if they cost more than my rent, and her makeup was expertly applied. Yet there was nothing pretentious about her. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Chambers. I’m Addison, but most call me Addy.”

“Hello, Addy. Please call me Anna.”

“Could we go in the house before she meets the entire family in the driveway?” Leo grumbled.

His mother quirked a brow and quipped back, “Careful or we’ll leave you out here, Leonardo. Now, then, greet your mother properly. I missed you.”

McGrumps grinned, going in for the hug. “Hi, Mom.”

“Hi, darling.”

She turned her smile back to me. “Obviously, we were all anxious to meet you, Addy. Please, come inside.”

I was excited to follow the woman who clearly ruled the roost. But once inside the beautiful mansion, I had to work hard not to gape. It was stunning. From the grand double staircase, the marble floors, and the brilliant chandelier in the entry, everything left me speechless.
