“Where do you need to go, man? The ER?” Declan asked as he climbed into the car and started the engine.

“Blake,” I whispered as a single tear slid free. “I need Blake.” Nothing would stop the pain I was in, but feeling her in my arms would be a start in healing the huge hole Leah had just ripped in me. Having Blake in my arms was the only thing I could think of that may allow me to ever take a fucking breath again.

CHAPTER 21

BLAKE

“Have you h-heard anything?” I asked anxiously, looking to Trent from where I sat on the sofa, sandwiched between Liam and Tom. They had arrived back at their place almost an hour before but Declan had not arrived with them.

We hadn’t heard a word from Grey, and his phone was still switched off so Luca couldn’t track it either. Now Declan was A.W.O.L. too and not answering his phone.

“Nothing yet, tiny,” Trent replied as he glanced nervously to our Dad. They were both in the kitchen, cooking dinner with Nan, and doing all they could to keep her busy. She was as terrified as I was, and each time she ran out of tasks to keep herself busy, a sob slipped from her.

“Luca, m-maybe we should try to find Declan’s phone. C-can you do that?” I asked. I was so on edge and terrified something had happened to the both of them. I couldn’t stand the thought of them being hurt and in need of help while we all sat there doing nothing.

“Grey will be just fine if Declan is with him. Between them I can’t think of anyone they would lose against. Declan is a very skilled fighter and Grey is quick and pretty ruthless. They’ll be alright, jelly bean,” Liam assured me.

“I agree. I’m not worrying so much now that we suspect Grey called Dec. They’ll be back any minute,” Tom agreed.

“What if they w-were outnumbered? They could be the best fighters in the world, but it wouldn’t help them against a h-huge gang or something,” I questioned.

“Breathe, sweetheart. As Tom and Liam have said, I’m sure the boys are just fine,” Dad tried to soothe me, but nothing other than my men walking through the door was going to do that.

“Why don’t you go and change into something more comfortable? I’m sure they’ll have reached out to us by the time you come back,” Trent suggested.

“He’s right, little warrior. Come on, we’ll come with you,” Tom agreed as he stood and held a hand out to me.

“Fine, but shout right away if you hear anything.” I looked pointedly to Trent until he nodded his agreement.

“Come on,” Liam urged as he grabbed my free hand and helped Tom haul me to my feet.

My legs felt shaky as we made our way through the house towards the room I was staying in. It had been a long day and I was exhausted. My injury always showed itself the most when I was worn out, and that evening was no exception. My head was pounding with one of my headaches and I felt tearful and emotional.

As we stepped into the bedroom the twin’s had given me on the ground floor, Tom flicked on the lights, making me wince hard.

“Too bright?” he asked, but he was already lowering them with the dimmer switch.

“Do you have another headache?” Liam asked as he pulled me into his front and held me, pressing my face tight against his chest to block out the light. I sank into him tiredly as I nodded. “Could you grab her pain pills?”

I clung to Liam and listened to Tom crossing the room to the dresser where Trent had helped me line all of my pills up for easy access.

“Tell me what you need, Blake? What can we do?” Liam asked.

“I n-need to know they’re alright,” I whispered as I slowly lifted my head until my eyes met his.

“I know, love. We all want that, but I’m sure they are. Until they get back, how about a bath? It might help you to relax a little?”

“No,” I shook my head. Nothing was going to make me relax and I didn’t have the energy anyway. “I’m tired. C-can we just lie down…l-like this? Will you just h-hold me…and stay with me? Please?” I turned to Tom who was now waiting behind me. “Both of you?”

“Absolutely,” Tom agreed as he leaned into brush some wild strands of hair free of my face. “Take these first though, okay?” He held out two of the pills I took for my headaches and a glass of water.

“You want to get changed?” Liam asked once I had taken the medication.

“I honestly d-don’t think I have the energy,” I admitted.

“How about we just help you out of your jeans. At least try to get you more comfortable?” he suggested, and I nodded, the movement making my head pound and my stomach roll.

I felt a little out of it as Liam lifted me from my feet and carried me over to the bed. I was aware enough to know they were both working to strip off my jeans, but my head felt fuzzy, almost like it did when I was repeatedly drugged at the psych ward. It was very unsettling and I felt on edge.
