“Deal.” I nibbled on her ear, unable to resist.

And then her neck, too, because it bore my wolf’s mark and was just really damn sexy.

There was a knock on the door as I buttoned my jeans back up. I’d have needed to clean up a little if a werewolf was coming in, but since the last client was human, I didn’t bother.

I wanted to smell my female on my skin while I worked anyway. Maybe I’d finally be able to focus again.

Iris tugged her panties back on and smoothed her hair. If I hadn’t known she was going right back home, I wouldn’t have considered letting her walk out of the studio in those little things, with the evidence of both of our pleasure dripping down the insides of her thighs.

“See you at five-forty-five?” I asked her.

“At the townhouse, yes,” she confirmed, fixing her dress.

“You got enough to eat?” I checked. The wolf was bearing down on me, and I knew it was because of the fact that she’d only had a few minutes to drink from me.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” She flashed me a quick smile. “See ya.”

I couldn’t stand not to follow her as she sashayed toward the door, that little ass swaying with every step.

I unlocked it for her, tugging it open, and my client—one of the damn flirty ones—gaped at us as Iris stepped outside.

“Drive safe,” I warned my vampire, something inside me clenching at the fact that she was walking away from me.

She waved over her shoulder at me, and I slipped my hand into my pocket to slide my fake wedding ring back onto my finger.

“That’s your wife?” my client asked me, still gaping.

“Yes.” The word slipped through my lips without a second thought.

And I didn’t regret it.

“No wonder you keep turning me down,” she finally said, grabbing the door when I stepped away and let it start to close. “Damn. If she was my wife, I’d be loyal to her too. Did you see those legs?”

I barely suppressed the jealous snarl that tried to escape with her words.

It was a joke—it was a damn joke.

And yet, the thought of this woman checking out my female made me want to tear the woman from limb to limb.

I settled for growling at her. “Of course I saw those legs. They were wrapped around my head five minutes ago.”

A surprised laugh escaped the woman. “Then I’m sure she’s loyal to you too.”

Iris being loyal?

We hadn’t talked about that.

The fury that rolled through me with that thought was enough to make the next five hours of work hell.

And I didn’t know how to bring it up without making her think I wanted more from our relationship than I did.

EIGHT

IRIS

I only hadfifteen minutes to shower after getting home from work, so I moved quickly, a grin plastered to my face.

The day had been good.
