“Probably not in the far, far future or in a faraway galaxy. I’m just not interested in it. I’m happy for them, but I like being independent. It works for me.”
I squeeze her tighter.
She whispers, “It’s why we work. No feelings. All fun.”
I let out a loud laugh.
“Well speaking of fun...” She gives me a not-so-subtle look. “My place or yours tonight?”
“Whichever one is closer,” I say, and she leans her head into my chest and laughs.
