“Of course, she was wearing a bra. We were in the Capitol building.”

I hold my hands up and shrug.

“I was just expecting her to go into a bathroom stall, and she just pulled her shirt off in front of me.”

I whistle. “Bet that image is burned into your mind.”

He doesn’t respond, but his jaw twitches just a little.

I narrow my eyes. “Are you enjoying this?”

He scoffs. “Does it seem like I’m enjoying this?”

I think on this for a beat and then say, “Yes.”

He scowls at me. “Declan, she’s trying to destroy me.”

A smile grows across my face. “I know, I think you like it.”

He shakes his head. “I’m not a masochist.”

We step off the elevator, and I say, “Well, you’re attracted to her.”

“Any man with eyeballs would be attracted to her, it doesn’t mean a thing.”

I open my mouth to say something else, and he continues. “I’m done talking about her.”

We step outside the building and a wall of sticky; humid air hits us.

“Let’s get to the game. We’ll at least get to see how it ends.”
