“Now I understand,” I say as I set her on the bed.

“What?” she inquires, her lower lip nervously caught between her teeth.

“Why it upset you with my offer of a threesome—just for sex,” I explain while undressing as fast as I can. “Though, to be honest, I doubt it would’ve been like that if you had accepted.”

“If I had accepted…” She goes back to gnawing on her lip. “We can’t think about the past or the things we could’ve changed. Not when we’re finally here.”

I kneel in front of her, looking at my dream girl.

My salvation.

The woman who kept me going, even when I thought I couldn’t.

Even during those times when I hated myself.

And yes, she is undeniably one of the loves of my life. And though it was painful to get to this moment, I wouldn’t change a thing. Not if it means losing Derek—or losing myself.

I grab my length, pumping it before I set the tip at her entrance. I push myself inside her slowly, enjoying the feel of her heat wrapping around my cock. Filling her perfectly tight pussy pushes me closer to the edge, but I find a way to calm down. I want this to be perfect for both of us.

I lean closer to her and kiss her as I draw in and out of her, listening to the perfect symphony of her moans and whimpers. I lower myself, taking her mouth and kissing her as the fire between us consumes us, melts us, and fuses us into one person.

My heart finally feels like it’s back where it belongs. It settles into a fast rhythm just as I feel pressure in my back, and I stiffen before I let out a roar. Piper trembles underneath, gasping and coming hard and fast.

“I love you, Finn.” she gazes deeply into my eyes.

“And I love you more than words can ever express, Piper,” I mutter before retaking her mouth and hoping we can stay like this forever.

ChapterSixty-Four

Derek

As I pullinto the hotel parking lot, the clock on my dashboard reads well after three in the fucking morning. My eyes are heavy with exhaustion from the long drive, but my mind is still spinning with the thought of finally being reunited with Finn and Piper, my loved ones.

As I enter the hotel room, a sense of longing wash over me. Finn and Piper are already fast asleep, cocooned in the warmth of the blankets. I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness that I’ve missed out on spending precious time with them before they drifted off to sleep.

But I push that feeling away, knowing my brother needed my help. And if I want to be part of his life, I have to show him he can count on me. Even if it’s for something stupid. I fire a quick text his way, letting him know that his friends’ bar now has a state-of-the-art security system, and they’re fine. Then, I get ready for bed and join Finn and Piper, making sure not to wake them.

The next morning, I wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the soft sounds of Piper’s chuckles. I push myself off the bed and put on a pair of sweats before walking toward her. I lean in to kiss her cheek, taking a seat next to her.

“Where is Finn?” I ask, reaching for her mug of coffee and taking a sip.

“At the gym,” she replies, her eyes still fixed on the screen of her phone. She turns it toward me, showing me a few pictures of Halsey.

“We could’ve brought her with us,” I suggest.

She shrugs. “Maybe next time?”

I like that she’s still open to the possibilities, but I can’t shake off the feeling of uncertainty when she asks, “Are you sure we can make this work?”

I can’t help but stare at her. “Why not?” I refute.

“You and Finn live in New York, just last night… and then I plan on…”

“One thought at a time,” I say, and thankfully, at that moment, Finn makes his way into the suite.

“You came home late,” he says, leaning in and giving me a peck on the lips before he gives one to Piper. “You should’ve told me, and we would’ve booked something in Paradise Bay.”

“He’s right,” Piper mumbles before ripping a piece of croissant and popping it into her mouth.
