“You’re an asshole.”

“Me?” Seb asked. He put his feet on the floor and stood up. “What did I do?”

“Smoothie?”

Seb half smirked. “What’s wrong with that? Smoothies are healthy.”

“Yeah, funny. Play dumb. Nobody can be dumber than that guy. I can’t believe you did that to me.”

“Excuse me? You set me up with a vegan who wanted to kill me over a beer and a glass of soda.”

“Yeah, well, at least yours didn’t try to hump you right on the spot.”

“He did what?”

Seb’s eyes grew wide with anger.

“Oh, now you’re worried about me?” I asked.

He jumped for me and touched my arms. “April, are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. I kicked him in the balls. He was very upfront about what he wanted. Apparently I wanted the same thing.”

“Well…”

“It’s fine,” I said.

“Want me to go beat him up? I will. I’ll track his stoner ass down and drown him in the ocean.”

“He’s not a stoner,” I said. “He’s got the wordCLEANtattooed on his stomach.”

“Really?”

“Yeah,” I said. “You did great picking that guy out. He also believes the ocean will swallow us all up. Then he wanted to take me down to the beach and have sex with me. Such a romantic guy. Maybe I should get in touch with him again.”

“Don’t you dare!” Seb growled.

“Oh, what’s wrong, Seb? Worried? Nervous?Jealous?”

He curled his lip. “Okay, are we done with this fake dating thing now?”

“I guess so. We had our fun. You know though, that guy was weird. I told him I had my period and he told me there were other holes.”

Seb’s face twisted with anger.

I laughed.

“You think he’d take the hint and back off,” Seb said.

“Well, I did lie. I don’t have my period. I just wanted to get away from him.”

“No more of that crap,” Seb said.

“I mean, to be fair, it could have been worse.”

“Worse? How so?”

I touched Seb’s chest and smiled. “I could have dated you. Right?”
