I touched April’s chin.
Her feelings for me were so obvious.

I leaned down and brushed my lips to hers.
She gasped and pulled away for a second.
Then she kissed me back.
“Okay, lovers, what are we doing here?” the guy working the game shouted. “This isn’t a place to kiss. This is a place to win a prize. Win a prize for the pretty lady. Earn that next kiss. Ain’t that right?”
April broke the kiss and nodded.
“Watch this,” I said.
I approached the game and pointed to the biggest teddy bear.
“I want one of those,” I said.
“Let me tell you how to play…”
“No,” I said. “I’m going to hand you money. You’re going to hand me a giant teddy bear. Got it?”
“Hey, you’ve got to play to win.”
I took money out of my pocket.
The guy’s eyes lit up.
“Well, looks like we have a winner!”
The guy took the money and grabbed a bear.
I turned and handed the massive thing to April.
“You cheater,” she said. “You paid for the bear.”
“That’s right, babe. I flaunted my money and my power. Is that a problem with you?”
I closed in on her.
She looked up at me and slowly exhaled.
She swallowed hard and shook her head.
“Thanks for the bear,” she whispered.
“Want to go ride some rides?” I asked.
“No.”
“Want to go have a few drinks and watch your brother’s game?”
April nodded.
I smiled and held April’s hand again.
