Seb grinned. “You better answer that. Don’t want him to be suspicious of anything.”

Seb pretended to be scared.

I smacked my hand against his chest.

He pulled me in and planted a kiss to my lips.

My knees buckled and I pushed him away.

I finally answered Andy’s call.

“Hey, big bro,” I said. “Congrats on the win. And the series win.”

“Yeah, that pissed me off.”

“Of course you’d be pissed off about winning,” I said.

I walked to the bathroom.

For privacy.

“Look, if we’re going to make a run here, we need to be better,” Andy said.

“I thought you guys played good.”

“I didn’t. I was a mess the entire time. My nerves got to me, April.”

“That’s okay,” I said. “Happens to everyone. You’ll be more focused for the next round. Who are you playing next?”

“We’ve got either Philly or Pittsburgh,” he said. “They’re going to game seven tomorrow night.”

“Ah. Right. Nice. So you get some rest, right?”

“Yeah. So you’ve been watching?”

“Every single game.”

“Going out alone? Or…?”

“Yeah. I go out to bars alone. Get hammered. Hook up with a bunch of random dudes. Then I drive back home.”

“You think you’re funny, don’t you?”

“And you’re being overprotective of me.”

“I’m asking questions. That’s all. Making conversation. Is that a problem?”

“Nope,” I said. “You’re being pissy though. Shake it off, Andy.”

“You know, speaking ofshaking it off… I’m surprised you’re still at Seb’s place. I figured he would haveshaken you offa while ago. You know my place is all ready to go, right?”

“Well aware.”

“So why are you still there? You must be driving Seb nuts by now.”

“I think we’re equally driving each other insane,” I said. “It’s a healthy mix.”

“You sure things are cool there?”
