“I’m joking,” I said. “I’m just imagining that happening and then telling Andy…”

April touched my face. “You think for a second I haven’t pictured it myself, Seb? Seriously?”

“What?”

“Us. Together. For real. And, yeah, having a family. All that fantasy stuff. It wasn’t all just sex stuff I thought about with you. I used to think about you playing hockey. Me being home. With our kids. Just this perfect little life for ourselves.”

“Wow. And here I thought I said something crazy.”

“You did say something crazy,” April said. “I just threw something back at you even crazier.”

“Any other person in the world who tells me they fantasize about having kids with me? I’d kick them out.”

“Here’s the fun part though,” April said. She leaned toward me. “We are not having kids together, Seb. Not right now. There’s no reason to say that stuff ever again. But we can play the part. We can do the thing that makes babies. As much as we want.”

I heldApril by her bare hips.

She hovered over me.

Her hair in my face.

Her eyes locked to mine.

Both of us taking deep breaths.

She lowered herself down to my body, taking me.

Making me feel things in my heart that I never thought I could feel.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

APRIL

I climbedoff Seb’s lap as my phone rang.

“Shit. That’s my brother.”

Seb pulled me back down onto his lap. “You don’t have to run like he can see us.”

“I know that. It’s just… tricky.”

“You can talk to him in front of me.”

“Why? So you can touch me? Tickle me? Slide your hand down my pants and pleasure me? Or better yet… go down on me while I’m trying to talk to him?”

“Is this another fantasy of yours?” Seb asked.

I jumped up off him and shook my head.

“Liar,” Seb said as he rose up. “You’re blushing, April. You really have fantasies about me for everything, don’t you?”

“So what if I do? Huh? I already admitted to you that you’re my forever crush. So there’s a ton of fantasies in my head.”

“How many times have you pleasured yourself thinking about me?”

I laughed. “I am not getting into that right now. Oh, great, look. It went to voicemail.”

Andy called right back.
