Red hot.

I didn’t respond.

Instead, I kept walking.

Going toward the normal room where Sabrina and I had our normal meetings.

I had a full marketing campaign all set up for her now.

Complete with objectives, targets, costs. Everything possible.

This was it. No more messing around.

If she wanted to take her health bars to customers and see what happened…

I opened the door and was instantly hit with smells.

Lots of smells.

Smells so powerful that my eyes puffed up and began to water.

My nose didn’t tingle.

It ached.

It begged my brain to tell my body to get the hell out of there.

I pulled the door shut and spun around.

I blinked away tears and saw a fuzzy image of Sabrina smiling.

“What the hell was that?” I asked.

“Our meeting.”

“What? Those cannot be flavors of health bars, Sabrina. You can’t…”

She touched my shoulders. “They’re not health bars. I know what you’ve been thinking. I’ve sensed it. I’ve felt it. I can understand your concern. I thought it over. I mediated on it. And I came up with something else.”

“Something else?”

Sabrina opened the door again.

I stepped to the side as the smell came out of the room.

It almost felt like being in a cartoon when some toxic gas was spilled and a green, spidery cloud tried to attack people.

I almost put my back to the wall.

Sabrina stood there, taking deep breaths.

Nothing happening to her.

She’s not human.

She looked at me.

“I can’t go in there,” I said.
