“Far from okay, Seb. But hearing your voice helps.”

“That’s good. No matter the craziness, I’ll keep to what I said a long time ago.”

“I know that. But I also know things happen. We didn’t talk to or see each other for ten years.”

“That won’t happen ever again.”

“Do you really want to get into the heavy stuff here?”

“I’d rather be talking about pee,” I said.

“In the shower,” she said. “Not in the bathtub.”

“Now that’s just weird and gross,” I said. “Unless it’s a fantasy of yours…”

“Goodbye,Sebby. Thanks for talking and grossing me out.”

“I bet you’ll think of me next time you go pee,” I said.

“Jerk.”

The call ended.

I dropped my phone to the passenger seat.

I sat there for another hour, just to be safe.

Just in case.

All remained quiet.

I eventually had to leave.

I had to drive away.

Although I had no issue sitting there all night.

If it helped April at all, it was worth my time and effort.

I finally drove away.

Back home.

To my now quiet and mostly empty apartment.

Gone was the slight honey and lavender smell of April.

Gone was the mess in the living room.

I grabbed a beer and went out to the damn balcony.

I spent too much time on that damn balcony now.

Staring at the ocean. Staring at the empty chair next to me.

Missing April way too much.

I thought maybe a little separation would ease that wholemadly in lovefeeling.
