My eyes watered as I stared at Seb.
“There,” I managed to groan. “No more issues with it.”
A few seconds later, Seb inched closer to me. “Not so sure about that,Auggie.”
“What? Why?”
“The guy who bought you that drink is walking your way.”
I almost jumped and ran.
Seb put his right hand to my left for a second.
It kept me seated but it did nothing to calm me.
“Give me a hint here, April,” Seb whispered.
“I don’t know,” I said.
I turned my head, just in time to see the guy getting close to me.
“Brian,” he said. “And you?”
“Oh,” I said.Just right into it here? No hello?“April.”
“Like the month.”
“Wow,” Seb said. “He’s smart.”
I looked at Seb and shook my head.
“Who’s this guy?” Brian asked, pointing to Seb.
“Who the fuck are you?” Seb asked.
Seb stood up.
“Dude, relax,” Brian said. “I know who you are. I’m just messing around.”
“Then what are you doing over here? I’m having a drink with a friend.”
“Just friends, huh?” Brian asked. He looked at me. “So you’re single?”
“Does this even work for you?” I asked. “You just step into someone’s conversation and night? Do women respond to this?”
“What do I do?” Brian asked. “I’m just trying to get a feel for you. That’s all.”
“You’re not feeling anything on her,” Seb said.
“That’s her decision to make,” Brian said.
I looked at Seb again. “It’s my decision to make.”
“That’s right, girl, you tell him,” Brian said.
I stood up. “Don’t ever call me that again.”
“Why not? I can see it in your eyes. You’re desperate to get fucked tonight. So let me fuck you.”
