“Would you like something to drink, miss?” the flight attendant asked me.

“I’d love a gin and tonic,” I said.

“I’ll have the same,” Hunter said.

“And a beer for both of us,” Lucas said, gesturing between himself and Chase.

The flight attendant disappeared to the back. Lucas and Chase sat down on the other seats near the couch where Hunter and I were sitting.

“Can you guys tell me how long the flight will be this time?” I asked, curling my legs up. “So we won’t end up with a Hawaii situation again?”

“It’s shorter than the Hawaii incident, for sure,” Chase said.

“But how much shorter?

“We aren’t telling you that, either.” Lucas tapped his finger to the tip of my nose, and I mock-growled at him. He laughed, the warmth of his smile soothing my pre-flight jitters.

Once, they put me on a plane after telling me to pack swimwear and didn’t tell me where we were going. The flight to Hawaii took ages and felt like it took even longer without me knowing when the hell we were going to land.

But it was worth it. At first, I’d been uncomfortable with all the pampering. I always wanted to push away from them, downplay what I wanted, and shy away from the attention. But now I understood why they did it. They were showing me brand-new things and wanted to give me the best experience possible because they loved me.

Getting used to hearing how much they loved me was new, too. I still had my moments where I couldn’t believe that not just one, but three men loved me so much that they’d do anything for me. But those days were becoming less and less frequent.

Now I embraced it and tried to give them the love back. Hunter was a cuddler, despite his crabby demeanor. Chase loved a good massage and a chat. And Lucas just loved spending time with me, doing things he normally wouldn’t choose to do on his own. I loved how I had my relationship with each of them, but then we had this—all of us together. That was where things really worked.

The flight attendant returned with our drinks and told us to prepare for takeoff. Hunter held me closer and made sure my seatbelt was fastened. I hated takeoff the most. As many times as Hunter explained that planes were safer than ever, I still panicked when the plane slowed down after its initial surge into the sky.

“Can I get a hint of where we’re going?” I asked, even though I knew they weren’t going to give me a proper clue.

“Hunter’s mom loves this place,” Lucas said, taking a swig of his beer.

“That’s literally the vaguest clue,” I said with a snort. “She loves every place she’s ever been.”

We’d spent a lot of time with Hunter’s mom, in between the trips that we sent her on with her best friends. She was newly single after breaking up with her last boyfriend for being an inattentive asshole.

At first, I was terrified about what she’d think of me and our arrangement, but she welcomed me with open arms. She was the sweetest woman. Now I understood where Hunter’s sweet streak came from.

“But shereallyloves this place,” Hunter said, the side of his mouth quirking up into a smile.

“Give me another one.” I gripped Hunter’s hand as the plane started taking off. “Please. I need a distraction.”

“The distraction card isn’t going to work this time, B,” Lucas said. “It’s our biggest surprise for you yet, if that helps.”

“That doesn’t narrow it down, either!” I swallowed, burying my face in Hunter’s chest. He ran his hand up and down my back in long, soothing strokes. “You guys are going to drive me insane.”

“Trust us, it’s going to be worth the shock,” Chase said.

I cuddled up against Hunter until we were at cruising altitude. The tension unknotted itself in my stomach.

“Okay. Now we can relax,” I said, reaching for my laptop.

“Movie time?” Chase asked. “We can put it up on the big screen.”

“No.” My cheeks flushed. “I’m going to be working.”

I’d come up with a few business ideas now that I’d gotten a taste of what it was like to run things at the casino. I definitely didn’t want to be in the gambling industry anymore, but it had inspired me.

“Are you going to tell us about those ideas?” Chase asked, one of his eyebrows arching. He’d trimmed his beard more the way he did when we were going somewhere warm. That didn’t narrow down our options that much.
