“You’ve gotta come for me, Angel,” I practically growled. I was so close to the edge that I could hardly think straight. “I want to feel you come all over my cock.”

It seemed that she knew who the boss was, even in this situation. I’d barely gotten the words out when she reached her climax, and the friction of her clenching around me was ecstasy. I groaned low in my throat as my own orgasm slammed into me. My entire body quivered and my heart raced as I found my release.

When it was over, when he recovered from the earth-shattering pleasure, I made quick work of cleaning up, tossing the condom in the trash and getting back in the bed just as Mia sat up and looked around. She moved her legs over the side of the bed, but I reached out for her arm before she could stand.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Umm, trying to figure out where my panties went,” as she continued to glance at the various articles of clothing now strewn across the bedroom floor. “I need to get dressed so you can, umm, take me home.”

“Don’t bother,” I said, brushing my thumb along the soft skin of her upper arm where I still held her. “It’s been a long day. Just lay down and get some rest.”

She turned her head and finally met my gaze, her disheveled hair and the flush on her skin making her look sated and beautiful. “You want me to stay?”

She sounded shocked, but I nodded. “Yes. It’s getting late and I don’t want to drive you anywhere tonight.”

God, I was such an idiot. Why couldn’t I just tell her that I wanted her to stay? That it had nothing to do with not wanting to take her home?

“Okay,” she said after a moment of deliberation. “Just this once.”

She settled back down on the bed beside me, and I covered both of us with the blankets. Laying on her side, Mia faced me with a small, content smile on her face. Her eyelids were heavy, and I gave into the urge to pull her close so she was cuddled against my chest.

Slipping my arm under her head and intertwining my legs with hers, my body relaxed, and it didn’t take long before I was drifting off to sleep.

CHAPTERTEN

Mia

I woke up in the morning with my head on Logan’s chest, breathing in the warm, male scent of his skin. I could hear the steady thumping of his heart beat in my ear and a light buzzing sound coming from somewhere in the bedroom.

I lifted my head, trying to figure out what it was, but it stopped before I was even fully awake. I sat up slowly, trying not to wake Logan up just yet. I needed a moment to get my bearings.

I blinked as I took in the bedroom around me.

It was morning, and sunlight streamed through the parted curtains. I didn’t pay much attention to the room last night, too distracted by my dirty thoughts of having sex with my boss, now my fiancé, the moment I saw his bed.

It was a big space with dark, heavy furniture, including the four poster bed we’d slept in. There was a TV on the dresser and a walk-in closet with the door ajar. Our clothes were scattered all around, and as my eyes landed on my pants, I realized what the buzzing sound was. My phone was on vibrate.

I slid out of the bed and checked my pants pockets until I found the device. I had four missed calls and even more text messages. All from my mom. She must have been so concerned about me when I didn’t come home. It had been a while since I’d lived with my mother that I’d forgotten that she’d probably worry about my whereabouts.

I sighed and grabbed my clothes, scrambling to get dressed before I called her back. I felt too exposed and vulnerable, naked like this. Finally, I walked into the hallway and dialed her number, feeling like a teenager that had broken curfew.

She picked up right away. “Hello? Mia?”

She sounded worried, and I felt guilty. “Yeah, Mom. It’s me.”

“Oh, thank God.” Relief infused her voice. “Are you okay? Where are you? You didn’t come home last night.”

I smiled a little. “I know. I just…I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

“You weren’t in an accident?”

“No, not at all,” I assured her. “I just stayed the night with a friend. I’m sorry, I should have called or texted to let you know.”

“A friend?” she repeated, but she didn’t ask who it was and I was grateful. It wasn’t something I wanted to explain over the phone. “Are you sure you’re alright?”

“Promise.” I injected a lightness to my voice to help convince her. “I’ll talk to you later okay? I’ve got to go now.”

We ended the call, and I checked the time on my phone. Cursing under my breath, I quietly walked back inside the bedroom, trying to remember where my shoes had ended up. It was later in the morning than I realized and I was going to be late for work.
