“I wanted to be bad again. And again.”

Yes, Ash mentally fist pumped. Ash knew it. Nix had a humiliation kink. Nix wanted to fight it but ultimately, he wanted to lose. This was something Ash could use. Something Ash could work with for his advantage.

“Yes… ’cause you are a bad boy aren’t you, Nixy?”

“They called me a sinner…”

“And you gladly sinned again and again, didn’t you Nix?”

Nix dopily laughed. “Yeah.”

Ash nearly had Nix eating out of the palm of his hand. The change from that angry ball of rage to a melting pot of butter was almost instant. Ash liked this game.

But then the guard clanged the door with their baton.

“Lights out ladies, sweet dreams!”

And the lights dimmed down, and the gates to the block squeaked and clanged in the distance.

Nix stiffened, shook his head. Eyes refocused. The spell was broken.

Nix tightened his grip around Ash’s throat again.

“So anyway,” Nix began, tough guy again. He probably wouldn’t realize or remember how far he let Ash go. “Don’t fucking show me up in front of the others again, okay? I’m not your friend, next time I won’t fucking bother-”

Ash left it, and enjoyed being mildly threatened and intimidated by Nix. Enjoyed being shaken and touched. Enjoyed the proximity. He’d give it a few days and then play again with Nix. Ash had found his target now, his game, for the stay.

For a sophisticated hunter like Ash, Nix’s sexual predilections were the Splash Mountain ride attraction just waiting to be ridden.

And Ash didn’t want to buy the souvenir poncho. He wanted to get soaking wet.

The bed began squeaking again.

“Dude, are you joking me?” Nix rolled his eyes and spoke out as soon as he heard it.

The man below him dragged a deep breath into his lungs, and the shaking of the rickety bunk bed came to a stop. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry man, you're right," Ash said. There was a pause.

Nix waited, clearly this wasn't the last of it. Nix didn’t know Ash well, but what he did know of him, Nix could tell he was a persistent little bastard.

"It's just... I was just remembering this one time… Laura, her name was..." Ash said.

Nix blinked in the darkness of their cell. He knew there was a moment, and this was it, where he could tell Ash to shut the fuck up and Nix could roll over and try to go back to sleep and that would be that. But Nix could also chat more. Feel that warmth again, that friendship, that cameradie. Feel his face smiling again. Feel that… buzz from making a new friend, it just felt strange because Nix hadn’t known it for so long. Felt that way that Ash somehow got under his skin and read him. Yes, Ash was a cocky annoying little shit, but he knew Nix. Saw him. Spoke to a part of him that had been left alone too long. It was a cold, needy part of his soul that he barely recognized. A hungry, impulsive snatchy part.

Nix decided to take the plunge and reply to Ash. He found himself wide awake now. He took the bait. He was hungry, after all.

"She your ex or something?" Nix found himself asking.

"My ex? Hell no, man," Ash replied. "Laura was just a one nighter, you know? Met her in a bar, she was there with friends, a bachelorette party or some shit like that... she came home with me and we made that one night an all nighter, if you know what I mean."

Nix nodded into the darkness. "All night, huh?" he replied, unsure whether to believe Ash.

"All night, man. I tell you, my balls have never been so thoroughly drained."

Despite himself, Nix smirked and relented. He had to ask why. He wanted to know more. "That good?"

"Oh, buddy, that good and then some," Ash replied.

Nix breathed into the silence. "Go on then, what was she like?" he asked almost reluctantly, though really he was keen to know.
