Colt pursed his lips. “So who is he, seriously?”

Ash bit his lip. "I don't know."

Colt took a deep breath in. "Fuck, buddy, it’s all well and good knowing you like the taste of his dick and the tats on his body but, you gotta think with your brain, not your cock, huh?" Colt said.

Ash looked down.

"I'm not sure it's just your cock doing the thinking here, is it?”

Ash tossed his hair out of his eyes with a flick of his head. "What do you mean?"

Colt raised his eyebrows sternly. “Think your heart is caught up in this, too."

"My… no, Colt... it's too early for..." Ash began to laugh. Loudly. Too Loudly, theatrically loudly and clearly fake.

“Trust me, it’s just fun, it’s just a lot of fun…”

Colt merely rolled his eyes.

"So anyway-" Ash crossed his legs and leaned in. "Tell me about the building work, you decided the layout? Keep the swimming pool, Colt."

"I..." Colt ran a hand down his neck. "Yeah, we'll keep the pool, though what MC has a pool, I don't know-"

"Er... we do?”

"Right and April & I will take the penthouse, we're gonna do a three bedroom apartment up there, kitchen diner, snug, all ensuite-"

"Fancy."

"Yeah I'm... fuck it, we deserve it. The janitors' cottage is so out of date, half the plug sockets don't work and the kitchen was put in in the eighties, so-"

"Yeah, you deserve it Colt, don’t overthink it or justify it," Ash said calmly.

Colt looked at him and sighed. Ash lifted one shoulder and one corner of his mouth, acknowledging Colt's gratefulness.

But at that moment, a loud cracking noise sounded from nearby. Colt ducked. Instinct kicking in. Ash gazed up.

Nix.

He'd jumped out of his chair so fast the chair had tipped back and clattered on the floor.

"No fucking way!" Nix shouted.

"God hates you and will damn your soul to burn-"

"You brought the pastor along to perform some sort of secret exorcism? Are you actually fucking insane?"

"David-"

"You think you can put that cross on my skin and mutter under your breath and live in your shitty, ignorant cult under the guilt and shame and repression-"

"Our father please forgive this sinner-”

"Don’t pray for me! I don’t want your forgiveness-" Nix was losing it.

Ash could see the signs. Nix was going to land himself in trouble if he lost it here, at visitation, in front of others.

"Nix!" Ash barked.
