My hormones have been wreaking havoc with me since the moment he put the ring on my finger. Maybe subconsciously I’m as desperate for a baby as him, and this is my body’s way of telling me.

The boat slows and the driver points out a sandy barrier island. We all stand to look at where he points, and sure enough, swimming along the edge of the water are turtles.

“Mommy, some of them are really big!” Keen bounces on his feet with excitement, a huge smile lighting up his face.

“They are, buddy, and they’re going to come really close so that you can feed them.” His blue eyes sparkle in delight, a mirror image of his daddy’s.

“Are you guys ready to jump overboard?” our guide, Miguel, asks.

“Sure, come on.” Con tugs me to the edge of the boat, then in the blink of an eye, he leaps into the air and flips into the water. I stare at him as he comes up to the surface and can’t help but lick my lips at the water dripping from the curls in his hair and down onto his sculpted chest.

“God, my husband is gorgeous,” I mumble as Keen climbs onto the edge of the boat and throws himself into the water, causing Con to cheer him on.

“That he is. He is the whole package.” Miguel stands beside me looking out toward Con and Keen, his eyes flit up and down my husband. His words registering in my head. Our guide has the hots for my husband, and my lips straighten to stifle a prideful smile.

“Yo, Will. Are you coming in?” Con jeers from the water.

“Yo, Mommy. Are you coming in?” Keen parrots, making Miguel chuckle beside me.

“You one very lucky lady, Mrs. O’Connell.” Miguel smiles as I dive into the crystal-blue water.

Don’t I know it.

ChapterFour

Con

Keen gently hands the vegetables to the turtle, and my heart swells with love. Today has been amazing, and as I sit on the sandy shore watching my family and reflecting on my day, I can’t help but thank Finn for pulling this off.

I lift my phone out of its waterproof case, taking another shot of Will and Keen before firing a text off to my brother.

Con:Thanks for the turtles. Keen loves them.

Finn:Huh?

Con:The turtles.

Finn:What the fuck you talking about?

Con:The turtle feeding you organized.

Finn:I didn’t organize shit.

Con:You didn’t book the vacation?

Finn:Fuck no. I have better things to do with my time.

Con:Such as?

Finn:One, fuck my wife. Two, slaughter some pigs and Three, fuck my wife some more.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. I can only imagine the chaos I have facing me once I return home.

Con:Who booked it?

Finn:Reece.

I roll my eyes. Of course he did. He knows Keen as well as Will and me. Although, I can’t help but fill with pride when I think of my nephew and son’s bond. I know Keen will always have someone to protect him in Reece, I just hope he guides him well too.
