She was panicking, so I put my hands on her shoulder, and gently drew her closer to me. “Relax Leah … I love you,” I said to her. “I really do.”
She met my gaze again and this time her eyes searched mine. “I want to be with you, and I want to be happy with you. There’s no one I’d rather come home to, Leah. It’s just you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“That’s not why I’m worried,” she said and shook her head. “I’m …” she sighed, closed her eyes, then her brows furrowed together a bit. “I’m pregnant.”
Her words shocked the wind out of my chest, and it took a second for the meaning to settle down in me.We’re having a baby.I had never dreamed of having another kid, but Leah’s news was already opening up new prospects for me.
This was a whole new life with her, and I could already feel the tickles of excitement kissing my nerves.
“I’m pregnant,” she repeated, then tried to pull away from me, but I took her hand and drew her closer again. “I know this isn’t planned, and you probably don’t want a kid at this time but …”
“Are you kidding me?” I asked. “This is big—this is great news, Leah.”
I pulled her in for a kiss, and she kissed me back before we jerked apart again. A brilliant smile played on her face, and I loved it.
“You’re not mad? Or scared?”
“Why would I be mad, Leah? It’s a baby, and I love you. It’s my child and I love it already. There’s nothing to be mad about.”
We hugged tighter this time, and when I started kissing the side of her neck she giggled and pulled me to the bed with her. “I’m so glad I came back to Lakewood,” she said to me. “This never would have happened if I didn’t.”
“I’m glad you came too. You make my heart beat, Leah,” I told her as I kissed her lips, then took my time to explore her sweet mouth. She moaned and wrapped her hands around my neck to cling to me. Her soft body melted into mine, and that pleased me too.
She rolled over to straddle my thighs, then chuckled when I put my hands on her waist and ground her against my body. Her lips parted for mine when my tongue swooped in, and she began caressing the back of my head, then my scalp and neck. I loved when she touched me, and even when she trailed a hand down my chest to my abdomen.
“You want to take a shower?” she asked in a seductive voice that made me smile.
“I want to have a shower with you every single day. If I ever say no to that question then I want you to find a gun and shoot me.”
We both laughed at the joke, then I sat up on the bed and lifted her off as I rose to my feet. When we got to the shower, I turned on the faucet, so the warm water flowed down our clothed bodies, then I gently started to peel the clothes off her.
I took off her panties slowly, then hiked one leg over my waist so I could feel her softness next to me. My right hand caressed the warmth of her core, and I loved the tiny moan from her lips. It made me want to pleasure her some more.
She always made my pulse race, and the taste of her lips was my undoing. I stroked my hands down her curves and brought her closer to me. The heat of the shower made us warmer, and every touch was followed by a whimper of pleasure.
I wanted to spend every single moment in her arms and enjoy all she had to offer every day. Leah was the love of my life, and now I had found her, I was never letting her go.

“Happy birthday to you,” everyone chorused just before I bent over to blow out the candles on my cake. Tommy was standing in a corner grinning wide while holding our son, and I loved watching the two of them together because it made my heart melt.
The past two years of my life have been the happiest. I have my husband Tommy, and my son Luke. Everyone seemed excited to share this day with me, and even though I was turning twenty-five, it didn’t feel like so much time had passed since I moved back here.
The days roll fast but the memories we create each day are dear to my heart.
“I have one more surprise for you,” Tommy said when he walked over to where I stood and kissed the side of my cheek. He had invited a ton of the town’s locals for the surprise party, and Cherry had made the cake and pastries around the table.
I loved my lemon-colored cake and the candles on it made it even more beautiful.
“I don’t think I can handle any more surprises, honey,” I said before angling my head to one side for another kiss. The crowd in our living room cheered as we kissed, and Luke too began to clap in his own little way. Tommy set him on the ground so he could play on his own, and we both watched him hurry away on shaky legs before facing each other again.
“I wish Danielle was here,” I whispered to Tommy after kissing the side of his lips again. “She would have played us a beautiful song and made it all the more special.” Danielle’s Europe tour had been extended past the year contract and she was currently in Scotland performing to a large crowd.
She was living the dream we both shared once, but it didn’t matter because I was living a new dream now, and I was excited about every new prospect my life offered.
