Now purify within me, release through my pores, and restore the Earth’s equilibrium.

Thelasthourhasbeen the most transformative period I’ve ever gone through. And she, my wispy mate, is simplydangerous.

First, my captors abandoned me and left with a writhing beast who wanted nothing more than to feast on my soul.

Then I was met with the sight of it being eaten alive by the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen.

Her.

The Light.

My mate.

And now I’m watching this ethereal being flow through the forest like she was born to rule it with iron fists. Each of her steps is a command, beckoning me forward as I follow at a distance.

I’ve thought about turning around and fleeing more than once already. Sheatethe beast. Doesn’t this mean she’ll eat me too?

But I can’t find the will to turn away from her, because leaving would be to reject the Calling.

Leaving would mean abandoning the key to the missing shard of my soul.

I thought I’d be stuck with the broken pieces of my heart after the terrible deeds I inflicted upon the humans. What if this female is the key to healing myself? I’m certain I could block out the regret if I had her to distract me from my flashbacks.

Even now, each time my eyes fall shut, I see blood covering every inch of my skin. Opening them again reminds me the crimson stains have long washed away.

I try to focus on the present.

Like the brightness illuminating from the female leading me into the unknown.

Her bare feet are silent as she gracefully maneuvers through thick brush and briars. Silken white hair, the same color as my last bloodthirsty target, trails down her back before ending at her rounded rump. The curves of her waist flare outward, and her gown is split on the sides of her hip, showing the pale skin of her thighs.

My cock is so hard it hurts, but each time I acknowledge its presence, guilt softens it again. This female,my mate, might not want me. After she discovers the truth of my past, I wouldn’t blame her.

It’s self torture to lust over a life I might never have.

And yet I can’t stop myself from trailing her.

If she kills me, I’d take the punishment with dignity.

The female’s shoulders are bare, with the fabric of herverysheer covering bunched around her upper arms. I’ve only gotten a glimpse of her face as she ate the dark creature meant to be my fierce, threatening guard, but what I saw of her plump, wet lips and gentle, lidded eyes… The sight was enough to make me desperate for another glance.

Occasionally her pace slows. She dips to the ground to trace her thin fingers over dew covered moss, or reaches on her tippy toes to brush against the fir branches. The surrounding air shimmers like magic dust as she sashays beneath a break in the tree’s canopy, dousing her form with sunlight.

I swallow thickly as I watch her, pressing my hand firmly against my chest. My heart feels like it might beat straight out of my chest, and the damn air is electric. With every inhale, I taste her sweetness.

She doesn’t smell like a human; like food.

Her aroma is more distinct, with hints of sickly sweet fruits I’ve never scented before.

My steps slow as she squats beside a log, her knees jutting from her glittering fabrics as she jabs a crawling creature with a twig. I take care to place my feet on the softest areas of the forest floor and lean against the back of a tree, closing my eyes as I listen to hercuriousactivity.

In Azure, there were no Light Queens. No sucker of souls, other than the Novians gifted with powers from the gods. Neither Jacel nor the Novian male with him spoke of such a dangerous beauty, and yet I’ve found one and witnessed her destroy the undestroyable before my very eyes.

If they knew about her, would they kill her for eating their pet?
